right? the reason I'm asking is, the quality of nijiEN clips is way better. I've unironically got to know pomu and selen through their clips and it also gives an accurate view of them when I watched pomu MC streams.
I check out EN clips and its a shitshow with popular comments being sane and new comments being "why did you clip my oshi?" or "why dont you clip my oshi?" kind of comments. not to mention the clips are also not good, they cut off and start at random times.

I don't use clickbait thumbnails nor titles, I don't appropriate others' artwork (that is just asking for drama) and I try to keep my translations accurate and legible. I don't know why the clip is considered bad? It seemed to me that Kiara herself understood why she wasn't getting a lot invites. I have seen this floating around lately, his clips, spefically the Kiara ones, got so much traffic they popped up in the recommendation despite the fact I barely click on anything Kiara related on Youtube.

All clip channels are shit. If you want to translate things, translate the entire stream and then release it as a subtitle file instead of making clips that take viewership away from the streamer. Depends. Most of the clips I've done are actually things I found interesting from watching the stream live; I watch Finana live practically every day. Sometimes I just find moments in timestamps that make me go "hmm... this may be worth it". "Has someone else done this already?" is a common question for me, though.

Depends on whether the focus is on the chuuba's words or the moment in general. For wholesome talks and other things that demand clarity in subtitling, I go for minimal editing. Otherwise, I have fun with them - every clip I've done is a nice learning experience for certain effects.
That being said, even "just subtitles" can get pretty interesting. Aegisub with automation can get some pretty neat effects into them.

This is tangential to the thread, but I think I'm at an impasse with the regulars here regarding whether or not a fanbase should be self-regulated by its own "superfans".
