that's because spanish translators are used to piracy and translate tons of animes, mangas and Light Novels, a lot of manga in english are translated from spanish in reality.

That's not all there is to it. English subtitles usually include references that weren't in the original, just to add "flavor". It's as much of a cultural thing as a language thing, at least.
Probably has to do with other countries being used to translations as one of the main methods of consuming entertainment, while english speaking countries are used to everything pandering to them both in language and culture.
Other countries learn what americans usually eat by watching american characters eating and talking about food in american media. Americans grew up only hearing about themselves, so they just go and change everything to hamburgers when localizing, unless they want to depict a stereotype.

well that's true, Hollywood is the main culprit, everybody has a reference about fat americans, but they know shit about the world, that's why woke garbage is spreading like poison, and also the reason why they suck at football

The spanish, from what I can see, is a direct translation. It does not convey the metaphor by itself, as it relies on a cultural standard to be easily communicated, but the difference is that non-english speaking audiences usually see "learning which metaphors and figures of speech are used in different cultures" as part of the experience of consuming media from different countries. English speaking people only care about understanding the text and moving on.
It's arguably more faithful to the creator's intent, as when they include some throwaway joke the intent is to get a quick laugh of the audience, not to teach them about their culture, but I personally find more value in learning from being exposed to things that don't mean much to me at first.
It's really a cultural thing, and a "lost battle" if you're EOP and prefer more literal translations. Learning the language is the only way. Or using your native language for subtitles if you're ESL, which will usually give something closer to what you want, but in many cases is directly translated from the english version, so even then you're better off trying to learn the language.
Personally, my preference would be to keep a direct translation and add a short explanation of things that might be lost in different audiences in the video's description, like translation notes.
Ironically, "like a moth to a flame" itself is an expression most ESLs use because they've learned it from consuming english speaking media, not from their native languages. Never once heard anyone saying this in my language, even if the meaning is fairly obvious.

You're retarded.
The translations in English was perfect. I know JP and English. If you're upset that a single line was added to the Haiku to explain the metaphor without using a translators note, you're retarded. Everything else was the original script. If you're upset they kept the tone by saying "PPTyrant" instead of "PP king" for PP王 you actually should never be allowed near a translation team in your life. Your the type of fuck who would get upset splatoon says "you were splatted" instead of "you were done in".
Literally every single meaning of the original script got across fine, in fact if they didn't add the haiku line and just had it "direct" the meaning wouldn't have come across from the English subtitle, you don't know a single thing you're talking about.

it is not only in vt content. but in many others japanese media products. official subtitles for english have its own script or minor alterations that complete change the meaning. while other languages have a 1:1 translation as far as it can get without sounding gibberish.
the english market targets the US. and the US is known for hating anything related to outside cultures and for non stop bitching at anything they don't understand. so their official translators change things all the time to reach the US market.

japanese to english "translations" are generally all bad (VERY bad) regardless of medium (official anime localization is worse, same with videogames. fansubs are SOMETIMES better but sometimes just as bad)
if your jp is above n3 (i wanted to say n2+ but i thought about it and it might actually be earlier than n4) and you consume any jp media that is english subbed but with the original voice dub you will notice how they straight up invent new dialogue, fuck up any nuance the original phrase might had or in the worst cases give the characters entirely new personality traits or just new personalities (eren in aot s4)
