Greys can be subbed and send SC. I watch probably 15 different vtubers but I'm only membered to 4 of them, so I'd be a "grey" if I ever used the chat. Which I don't, but still, hypothetically.

I'm a member in my oshis chat which is a sea of green. Recently I listened to an indie vtuber remark how it's hard for some greys to chat due to the tight-knit feeling of a mostly green chat. He wanted there to be a balance between the two. Several other vtubers I follow remind people in membership to not spam too many emotes because it leaves out non members. As a non member in 90% of the streams I occassionally chat in I never felt that but apparently it's an issue non members feel, or the vtuber assumes non members feel.

because i'm a poorfag who can't get a credit card which is what youtube only accepts for payment. and to that end i'm bettering myself to make myself more appealing to employers so i can qualify for a credit card and finally support my oshi whose videos helped me during my lows
