Meh, "infuriating" is an unnecessarily strong word. An actual Kiara fan shouldn't have such a negative reaction to it, after all it's not like anything worse than just some long chicken karaokes are actually gonna come out of it, and second it's not like this is anything new that Kiara fan's shouldn't be used to by now (in fact, there's been so little milestone streams recently, let her have this one). If anyone is actually "infuriated" by this, it probably says more about them than Kiara.

I mean, sure, we can talk about milestone streams in general, as in should they actually be held, and what should be done on them. It's mostly a vestigial tradition coming from the JPs by now, many of whom came up from the dark ages before the big Holo wave, where every ten thousand or so subs grown was actually a major achievement worth celebrating. It's no surprise that Kiara, being the one EN most molded and adherent to the JP style, follows that line.
What has skewed perceptions for most EN audiences is that the absolutely unprecendented explosive growth of HoloMyth, coupled with the fact that most other Myth talents personalities fall more on the "too detached / above, to be seen as caring about something so trivial like subnumbers" side of the spectrum, has trained people to mostly disregard milestone streams, and the one that does invariably stands out, at best as tacky or cringe, at worst it's just another "hurrdurr look how desperate she is, what a numberfag!" talking point for people who already dislike her anyway, but who cares about those, fuck'em.

You COULD make the argument that there are at least some "tactical" improvements towards milestone streams to be made, for example, just holding them AFTER the fact instead of trying to make it a sub-marathon, and connected to that, not coupling a marathon with a potentially strenuous activity like singing, but meh, she probably just simply goes off by what she's used to and sees from her JP sempais, and she likes singing, and likes celebrating things on stream as they happen, so while we're on the outside all thinking more bigger about how she could do better and how it looks, she's just thinking it's a fun thing to do and nothing more nothing less.

1.25M is also a completely uninspiring milestone.
Her last unarchived karaoke got 8.7k viewers and the archived one right after 6.4k and I don't see her having a significantly higher pull today.

She could have done something actually exciting people are interested in like another German karaoke or a Hololive song karaoke instead of another misc. karaoke with a chance of failure.

Cover's and the Hologirls income also comes mainly from parasocialfags with poor impulse control, dropping them SCs left and right, so it's not like any of them (company, talents, audience) have much of any upper hand to tell anybody else what they should or shouldn't spend their money on.

From what I remember at the time, the viewer reaction to her mentioning putting some money into bitcoin was not as bad as you mention it, sure there was some that are against it, but there were also some positive voices, and many who are mostly just in the middle / don't care / amused and spouting the memes.

My personal rrat is that it was not so much actually the audience that turned her off from talking further about it, but that she got a quick bonk reminder from management behind the scenes to not mention it ever again.
- actual money talk is probably generally discouraged with company policy, as it is mostly only a "losing topic". If people get the impression that you have too much, it could bring resentment and "why should I donate to this already rich person?" sentiment, which goes against the underdog-idol and "I have to help this poor girl achieve her dreams" narrative that Cover wants to rather project. If you mention that you have too little, people would be asking angry questions at Cover why they aren't treating the girls better. Just avoid talking about money completely, or at best only talk occasionally about some interesting conversation topics (like stuff or vacations) etc that you bought with your money, but not the money directly
- there's probably also some legal tension when you mention money in regards to actual general investments you make (for example, being potentially liable for "investment advice" and the like), and again it's probably company policy to better just avoid that can of worms altogether
- bitcoin specifically is also a kinda "controversial" topic, with arguments about it easily becoming political and the different sides of people having shitstorms against each other in chat. And with how much Cover wants to stay away from anything controversial or political or anything that could disturb the peace in the audience, it probably falls under the discouraged NG topics.
