It was about the girl but his original motivation for saving the girl was a selfish one. He barely remembered her originally and had never interacted with her when he was a child. Originally he wrote her off as a strange girl that didn't have any friends and never talked to anyone in school before her disappearance.

After timetravelling he finds she's actually a very sweet girl and they become very close and he finds out all her family baggage like her abusive family and the fact she was bullied in school which caused her to withdraw and never talk to anyone, so he wants to give her a happy ending even more than he wants to save his mom.

This suggests that after he fell into the coma his friend group continued to include her and she grew into her own person and eventually matured into an adult and started a family, confirming that he achieved his goal of giving her a future.

These things aren't really explicitly stated, so the series clarifying that he's in fact relieved about these things and doesnt feel like a cuck makes clear his feelings towards her as someone he wanted to protect, but not out of a desire for romance or need for reciprocation. He just wanted to give her a future, any future, as long as she's happy.

If they had just gone the standard anime shonen romance route and made them end up together it would have painted him as less of a selfless person and more like a groomer, because she'd continue to be dependent on him forever as the only person she can trust. this is kind of an important topic when you're trying to "save" someone, you can't let them get overly attached to you because you can't be there for them forever. what happens if he were to fall into a coma like that for 15 or 20 years while she's still clinging to him? she'd remain an emotionally broken mess the entire time(this actually happened to his mom btw), robbing her of her own future and development until he's back.

Was that the same guy? I thought she had several ex-boyfriends in the past? Did she not mention she would always seek out a new boyfriend when one break up with her because she would basically turn them into therapists? I remember someone in a previous delta thread said that the guy was not even a boyfriend anyway, he was a guy she wanted to date that took advantage of her and basically let her mother him. Besides, I recall her fucking up and following the boyfriend that was a part of the controversy with her Mano Aloe account on steam and the hololive threads shitposting about it (unless that turned out be her brother’s account). I can believe she broke up with him given he would have factored in obviously in her livng situation in some way if she still with him unless he's a massive tool. However, all my information points to them having broken up during the controversy and not before it (unless she was lonely and trying to get back with him). I mainly wanted to know his twitter account so I could see for myself, although I read the supposed twatter account possibly was not even his. I am simply curious since I follow delta for the music shit even though I feel for her as a person as well, but these threads seem full of misinformation and disinfo.
