In my opinion, this is a very good execution of a bunch of ideas which all sound very bad on paper.
>three-tone body in very plain colors: dark-yellow, white, brownish-black
>extremely round
>oversized petal-shaped neck plumage to visually separate round featureless head from round featureless body
>black and red (babby's first OC colors) cloak and necktie with tiny symbol that is barely recognizable
>to literally top it all of two featureless almost spherical birds without any extremities or wings, one with three hairs, one with ahoge
And yet the entire mascot design is good. Not too overly detailed and whacky, nor too bland. Somewhat cutesy and silly which fits Lui's debut impression very well. And I really like that he looks to the opposite sides of where Lui looks instead of mirroring her movements. It looks deliberate. It's cool. I like this bird. He is just the right amount of adorable and cool to make for a cool wingman.
I don't hate Mumei's mascot. He doesn't detract but has some interesting features that fit Mumei's theme. But you can tell from the janky movements (i.e. how he reacts to movements of Mumei) and lower amount of design details that less thought went into him.
