That and when you are shopping it can be hard to tell if usb ports have their own channels or if it's shared or if they have chosen good components or not.
this is actually one of the reasons every broadcast shack and recording studio has macs banging around. If your equipment is sensitive to clock issues then you need quality ports and there's just no way to gauge it.

How much data is really going through USB though? Video goes to the headset through displayport from the GPU, and then there's one USB for the other headset functions which I guess does include mic audio, but I'm assuming the rest of what you're talking about is tracking devices, which would need to be fast but probably don't actually require that much bandwidth.
