Really cute and motivational stream from Nade. She also did a really good job of sticking to the theme she decided and not getting baited by people trying to derail the stream. This type of stream is something she's been trying to do for a while, so it's nice to se her get it done successfully this time. I'm really proud of her.

Why Nade should embrace the badger character:
1) a strong mascot character boost audience identification with the chuuba:
Look at some channels with good mascots, like Ina, Pekora and Korone. The audience feels like they are part of the story of their oshi it also provides some identity instead of just referring to the audience as "you guys".
2) It lowers the entry barrier for fanworks:
I can't understate how important this point is.
Not every viewer can do a decent drawing of the chuuba. But a mascot like the badger? Even a children can draw one in one minute. There's a reason why on the birthday card the good drawings were drawings of Nade and the bad ones were of badgers. People who wouldn't normally draw anything were able to participate because of the simplicity of the mascot.
3) Fanbase already loves the character:
For six months already the core fanbase fully embraced the badger identity. So, no need to fight against it, the reason why this happened is because the badger is actually a really good mascot. New viewers are most likely already familiar with vtuber culture and the notion of mascot characters that represent the fanbase. No need to worry about alienating anyone.
4) The badger design is really, really good:
I challenge anyone to go look at any small vtuber (as in, any vtuber without a professional design team behind) and find any mascot character with the charisma and versatility that the badgers have. Not wanting to throw shade or anything, but look at k*ki's thread for example, their audience mascot (the muscular bunny) is fucking horrible and not even an original creation. Coming up with good designs is definitely not easy, lightning is unlikely to strike the same place twice. If you got something great, run with it!
5)Badgers are cute:
CUTE I SAY!

Overall the badger is a net positive on the channel, and I hope they never go away.

Very big and true. Just look at something like /wah/ and Inas fanbase, there are some fan artists that mostly just do tako memes/art because its such a good mascot to play around and yeah it gives chance for people who suck ass at drawing anime grills to make some fanart.
I know, because i used to make alot of tako edits before Nade emerged.

What I'm saying is, I love badgers and agree with your points 100% but I just don't think this is that kind of argument. The good news is: Nade doesn't get upset when other people use badgers, only when she sees people spamming requests for it, so this problem is easily solved. You don't have to pretend badgers don't exist or anything. Just stop spamming those requests, and any resentment she might have towards badgers will fade away. Once that pressure is gone, she'll still remember the badgers' good points enough that she'll want to draw them again, I promise.

Spent a few minutes looking at every Holo and a few nijis membership badges.
Holy fuck, it's so bad on the JP side. Almost none have a clear sense of progression, some don't even look from the same chhuba (Subaru), Ayame eve has the same image for two different badges. It's like it's not.something they give much thought to.
On EN side things are better, but only a few kept the progression going on every badge. Hopefully Nade will give more thought to it than corpos are doing.

As a Nade viewer, those kind of badges don't mean anything for me. I believe badges are something that a fan must be willing to pay for having the right of displaying besides their usernames.
So I'll always prefer something that has a meaning for the audience.
The sweets that she showed may be cute, but the concept is generic as fuck, and they also don't make me feel like I want to keep paying for months for them.

Ina and Mumei have the cutest ones.
Mori, Hakos and Fauna the best progression.
Ame badges are horrible, they fit the theme, but the aesthetic is a mess.
Why are Sana's badges slices of bread?

Mumei's are my favorite overall.

Overall is easy to see the dos and don'ts. Keep thematically in line with the channel and don't overcomplicate visually.
