This merch is really great. The only issue I have is that it takes two month long absences pretty frequently and it always gives me excuses like "throat hort" or "I moved into an apartment."

Any tips on how to make it work more frequently?

What are some good merch options? Personally I'm not a fan of these bags or T-shirts. Would love to see more stuff like the current Mio merch like coasters and such. Or Botans ramen bowl but I have no hope of that arriving in one piece...

Ruber mats, tapestries, canvas art, plushies, keychains and charms, figures. I like my phone case, but you probably wouldn't be collecting those.
I don't really like acrylic stands, blocks or dioramas because they are inferior to just getting figures, tapestries or posters.
Daki's and oppai mousepads are like the most awkward pieces of display items. Unless you are a coomer, then they have an entirely different purpose I guess, but you can just get an onahole for half the price.
