Are the girls coerced to all do the same shit? I noticed that when one girl plays a game, suddenly all of them play it. Now every girl does duolingo.
Does Hololive make contracts that a certain number of their streamers have to promote certain games or software?

I love Gura so much but I find lots of the stuff she does on stream kinda meh especially when it's already done a million times by the other girls.

Hololive really needs to get their shit together. They have the best talents but do not use them wisely. If Gura played PS3 games, she would easily be at 3million subs by now.

Hololive got copyright striked by capcom for streaming a game they didn't "have permission" for, so now any game that holo wants to play has to go through an arduous process of cover obtaining official permission.

As a result most holos are starved for game variety so when one gets approved they all play it.

Yes it's retarded.

I wouldn't be surprised if most of them just don't have the time to play games, so when one plays something "new", everyone plays it.
Notice how they watch each-other streams? Throw a sidejob and Netflix/Anime to that and you basically have no time to find/play new games. Only way for you to know about them is one someone you follow plays it.

The system for unstriking videos on YT is not only draconian, but obtuse. It is a result of draconian copyright law and not only YT's fault that their system has to be so retarded, though it is still their retaded system. As a result, it almost always takes less effort and time to get explicit permission than to fight against invalid claims, and even with explicit permission some companies will just tell you to file a high-risk appeal when their bots get you. This article features a few examples, the one about the music law presentation getting copystriked is rather impressive levels of retarded.

Because it's whack-a-mole. Okay, so you fight the copyright strike against one, but what about the next one, and the next? Or the same strike against different channels?
Copyright systems are fucked up in the western world in where you have to follow the copyright systems of every nation and also every person who uses any specific work. So one member fighting and winning their copyright strike doesn't mean the same strike couldn't be applied to another member, or the next, or the next. Regardless of where they live or what company they belong to. This is why copyright bots that grab plague youtube stealing content that isn't even theirs: The system is set up in such a way that the onus of proof is on the accused.

So instead of dealing with that shit they rather just get written permission to deal with each game.

the funny part about that is that the US in particular maintains a legal precept that if you become aware of IP infringement you are obligated to go all rabid dog in the legal sense over it, because if you do not defend your IP in any particular case you are legally viewed as not caring and thus are forbidden to defend that particular IP ever again. this gets into the problem that these laws pay lip service to the concept of fair use but don't actually permit it to exist any more than other countries' laws. if a company isn't explicitly okaying things they're on the hook to ruin your life.

>Streaming someone else's video game is not fair use, even in America.
fair use is vague, but it's not that retarded. a stream of a video game is not something which would offer an alternative to the game without having to pay the company for. video games are interactive and, unlike traditional media (e.g. movies, music. etc.), the interactivity is a core part of the experience and can't be gained from watching a stream

Haachama tried doing that and Cover shit on it. Even ignoring her, it seems to take a lot of work for not much pay off. (Kiara's german stories, Ame's Halloween and Thanksgiving streams, etc.) Much easier to stick to Apex or Minecraft for a few hours a week.

have you seen how shit the repeal system is anon? It can take months for a strike to get repealed, during which you earn absolutely no money from the video and there's no guaruntee you'll even get it repealed in the first place. Sometimes they'll even straight up tell you to settle it with the person who struck the video because they don't give a shit enough to deal with it themselves.

Haachama dragged out what should have been a cool week long video series into some schizo month long arc depicting hangings, beheadings and suicide. Ame's halloween stream playing with filters was creative? Her thanksgiving stream was a glorified cooking stream using fan submitted art to make a parade. Only Kiara's german stories were actually creative but completely neglected because most people are put off by Kiara.
Marine does creative streams all the time ex. Grandma Marine, Hololive profile book, her utawaku setlists are the best in Hololive from classic 90s bangers to more recent shit with a lot and I mean a lot of old NND references from the early 2010s. Its up to each talent to mix it up and do interesting streams, if they choose to phone it in thats on them.

If you buy a movie, you can not legally just show it to whoever and collect tips from people for providing your service. If this were not true sites like Netflix would not waste so much money in licensing movies and shows.
>>1572859
Although I do not believe this interactivity thing makes something fair use, instead I would like to propose a simple counter point. A video game's music / sound effects are under copyright too. The sound effects and music are reproduced by streamers without a license often for commercial use.

there's a reason why devs only claim they have the right to gameplay footage while refusing to ever let that claim make it inside a courtroom despite the thousands of hours of gameplay footage streamed and uploaded on social media every day. because they know they'll lose their right to that claim if it ever comes down to a judge's ruling.

that's because lawsuits are fucking expensive and average joe has no money. it'd be a waste to take everyone of them to court despite the countless instances of copyright infringement. it's not because they're "scared" of losing in court, almost all of them would by won by the publisher.

this is also why companies that care will just DMCA your account to oblivion on Twitch and Content ID strike you on Youtube. they don't have to deal with a lawsuit and they can get your account banned in under a month.

Lying about the product count as fraud. So other companies can't say that they created/invented the thing. Claiming to represent/be the company too. Abolishing IP laws makes monopolies break.
And the concept of IP is retarded anyway. You can't have rights on a concept, on an idea. You don't lose yours if someone copies it. They're not scarce. They only multiply, get distributed.
Imagine trademarking words and phrases - oh wait, Marvel and DC shares the trademark on the word "superhero"; catchphrases like "get ready to rumble" are trademarked too; you can't print a famous word or brand on a T-Shirt and sell it, despite making it yourself.
You might think: "Oh, then let's just not have IP laws for that", but there's still bullshit like you can't show the HOLLYWOOD sign on something commercial. You can't sell a picture you took of something that can be seen thorough the city.
