I've definitely gotten better, I can feel that much but I'm still not on a level where I understand everything she says. In terms of understanding the conversation and being able to fill in the blanks to have it all make sense I feel I've come fairly far.
For example in this stream, every topic I wrote about I did understand or at least roughly understood on the live view but that is never enough if I want to actually translate it, and when I sat down to start translating it, then it becomes a new beast.

It can't be stressed enough that understanding what is said is very different from taking that and properly paraphrasing it in English, it can lock your brain up something fierce.

Don't give up before even giving it a chance, even if you don't feel like the end result is something worth posting then all that time you spent focus listening and making sense of it was still dedicated practice.
Of course it definitely motivates to post summaries and get positive feedback from it and consequently the thought of getting shat on is terrifying.

I guess one of the most helpful tips I can give is to not always trust your first judgment. Make it a habit of re-listening to sentences and sometimes segments as a whole because sometimes you need several re-listens to catch that real meaning and that meaning might even be different from your first interpretation.
