here are not that many porn stars that are as cute and sexy as vtubers.
Some onlyfans girls are 10/10 but finding their new material for free can be a chore.
Vtubers are more like modern day Geisha or courtesans in that they provide conversation and socialization in addition to the sex appeal. They give the girlfriend experience.
Even if prostitution was fully legalized in all parts of the USA and Europe and Japan people would still pay Vtubers to pay attention to them or just to "support" them.
And those women can just not talk to me if they aren't interested.
You pay a Geisha to be interested in the things you are interested in and talk to you about them. Or feign enthusiasm.
That's exactly what Vtubers are doing. 90% of wouldn't give a fuck about video games if it didn't make money for them.

I...don't even know anymore. After more than a year of trying to find a chuba that fits my style and expectations, only to quickly wind up bored and disappointed, maybe the novelty of Vtubers has worn off. Theoretically vtubing would be pure kino, but it's ultimately limited by the talent pool. If there's no character that truly resonates with you...then I suppose vtubing will be that much less appealing. And because there's so much quantity and sameness, if you're not happy with the current roster...then it's that much harder to find a better fit.

Homogeneity was always a mistake. Characters should strongly play into a niche. Having a bunch of similar vtubers only cannibalizes the same segment of the market and leaves everyone else shit out of luck. That's the conclusion I've come to...
