The institution which supported American slavery was crippled but never fully dismantled. Is it possible these same psychological tools used to subjugate past generations are still being wielded by oppressive powers? Is there a better life outside of our social and mental confines which sit outside our scope of imagination? We are unable to attain any power which we cannot put a name to. I believe the point Kanye wanted to bring up was, why/how was American slavery so effective for so long? And does it continue to this day?
