Notable Relationships:

Fubuki – a collab partner, their relationship was especially strong during the time they started growing rapidly on Bilibili. They do not collab as much anymore, however.

Haato – an old collab partner, they used to do “girls talk” streams where they would answer marshmallows, with Haato playing the pure girl and Matsuri playing the straight man. However, this relationship fizzled out by late 2019, and they haven’t done a collab since.

Shion – similar to Haato, Shion used to collab with Matsuri a lot, especially in Minecraft. They had a cute sibling relationship w/ both making fun of the other. Unfortunately, this relationship dried up around the latter half of 2019. These days, they can barely talk to each other without sounding extremely awkward.

Tamaki – an old collab partner of Matsuri, they were extremely close from 2019 to 2020, with Matsuri frequently consulting Tamaki on matters, and Tamaki even showing up for Matsuri’s 200k 3D livestream. In August 2020, Matsuri cancelled a collab w/ Tamaki to practice with Happy Set , and they haven’t collabed since.

Hoshikawa – Matsuri adores Hoshikawa, stating that she looks up to her wishes she was a male just because of her. While Hoshikawa does not dislike Matsuri, she still keeps Matsuri at an arms distance, and for the most part ignores her except when Matsuri randomly donates a few grand on her livestream.

Luna – Matsuri and Luna got very close during the summer 2020, coinciding with Luna’s first 3D and Matsuri’s birthday celebration. However, like always, their relationship seemed to fizzle out by August, and while they still mention each other sometimes, they are much more distant from each other than before.

Suisui – Matsuri and Suisui make a very formidable duo, with Suisui’s vocals and Matsuri’s dancing skills. When you think of an “idol group” in Hololive, an image of these two always comes to mind. They frequently get paired together when Hololive needs to send people out to events.

Tenjin Kotone - A good friend of Matsuri. They occasionally have collabs where they chill on Kotone's Minecraft server.

Possible Future Relationships:

Lamy - They've been out together and shared a few beers, and they seem to mesh personality wise.
Noel - Matsuri and Noel seem to get along quite well, and work very together.
Ollie - She seems to be a genuine fan of Matsuri, but it can also be a ploy for networking.

This is pretty misleading. They've commented that they're still close and have mostly been very busy with preplanned collabs and events that keep them from collabing. Plus Matsuri has always been in Luna's corner in regards to seeing her go make more close friends and do other collabs.

I sometimes feel sad when watching Matsuri. She seems to be that girl that is so approachable and friendly that everyone knows but doesn't really have a best friend? Like you can imagine her just staring at her phone in the dead of night without anyone to talk to. Maybe she really has one in the background that she never talks about but she so transparent sometimes that you know when bad things happen to her... Like that shitty apex scrims... You know after getting the base comfort from peers that she's alone having to deal with her emotions alone. I really hope not though.

I've always had a similar feeling. When she gets brought up a lot of the girls will talk about how she's so supportive and energetic and caring, but they don't sound particularly close to her and they don't talk about her often. She seems like the type to wear herself out loving everyone else but, either because she comes on too strong or because she herself doesn't want people fixating on her she ends up not being on the receiving end of that same love and enthusiasm. The idea of having too much love to give really suits her - she doesn't really draw a line between friends, lovers, and any positive relationship. She just loves people, and it seems like such a powerful thing for her, but no one else can really match that.

Don't get me wrong, I think a lot of the Hololive girls really like her - possibly all of them. They seem to genuinely find her funny and charming, and I don't think they're lying when they say so on stream. That wasn't my point. My point is more that it kind of stops there, at the point of her being "that funny, charming girl I work with" and there's something preventing them getting closer. Though obviously none of us actually know and I'm speculating like crazy. All I really know is that she feels lonely a lot and doesn't do as many collabs as a lot of other members, so I'm just trying to paint an image of why that is.

Possibly. I don't claim to know anything behind the scenes for sure, I'm just trying to understand why Matsuri seems lonely a lot of the time. As far as viewership... I know it looks low compared to other hololive but it's way better compared to other vtubers outside of hololive. She does a lot of events and her SCs do get crazy at times too. So as far as sucess goes, she does fine. She's always busy. Holofes 2, Apex tournament, vtuber fes and now bloom. I'm sure there are other stuff she is working on.

I hope she starts working on Covers that uhh suits her more... Not a fan of that turing love collab. Her Aimer and fansa covers were perfect.

You also need to keep in mind the people she's fighting, she's normally playing customs against monster players that ONLY play Apex, even someone like Noah is a huge wall to even dare facing but she's doing it head on. She deserves praise for how much effort she's putting in, my only complaint with the playstyle she did during the one customs tourny is that she was camping a lot, when she was playing with Uge she was playing aggressively and i find she played extremely well, she just needs more confidence in her aggressive playstyle.

Apex is a game of confidence, if you dont hold your confidence you dont keep your consistency. When she was playing with Uge, she felt confident enough to be pushing and being aggressive and it worked out really well for her, even if she made stupid mistakes but when she was playing with Towa and Sumire it seemed like they didnt have the confidence as a team to do what they needed to so they just camped around (which bit them in the ass more often than not). She had a good team too, Towa and Sumire are aggressive players. There was other teams during the Tourny that literally had to backpack a teammate (Like Uge with Marin, Marin had no idea what she was doing and held her team down pretty badly, i feel sorry for her because she knew how much she held her team down too) So Matsuris team had a lot of promise, they did really well against the people they were fighting too but i feel like they camped too much, thats it.

It's the panic. She actually has the skill even in tense situations when she doesn't realize how tense they are, but she starts making mistakes if she's aware of the pressure. Which is in part why the hate is so infuriating - it's only going to make the anxiety worse and make her perform more poorly.

Also luck is a big part of things, as much as some people want to deny it. Anything from in-game positions to real life distractions can get you, and these factors are often influenced by forces beyond your control. I'm not saying she doesn't have plenty - and I mean plenty - of habits to kick or ways to improve, but sometimes she just gets the short end of the stick, while others everything goes right. The most important thing is that improving her performance under pressure will help to eliminate some of that luck factor.

Then Matsuri replied (the second screenshot) that they are not doing whatever they want without supervision cause they always have to ask their manager first before doing anything.

I've always been conflicted about this. I don't think anyone is impervious to criticism, but when it comes to streamers, the criticism is usually extremely stupid. And again, Matsuri actually listens to her viewers, doing polls and even restricting her APEX content during the past few months.

In regards to Matsuri's response, I think she sees a lot of these kind of comments maybe that's why she felt the urge to comment on it. She does have a point when she says that it is not as if anything she has been doing are entirely in her control. So continuing from before, he acknowledges that a store can't take all opinions from a suggestion box. However, he insists that the "if you don't like the product, the leave" attitude is wrong. She thinks so too but she doesn't agree with the wording that is used cause it hurts her. Rather than saying "stop it, it's boring" or "there's no point in doing this", she much prefers "I want you to do this kind of stream", "I want you to sing this song" or "since you play Apex so much, why don't you combine these ideas".

Then the rest is she explains that there is no restriction on male interaction whatsoever and Matsuri believe that the most important thing is to have fun together regardless of gender Yes, she's an idol but there are many kinds of idols.

She doesn't want to be just a streamer idol, she wants to be an entertainer. That is what she wants to do and she won't force this on other members.
