My first encounter with vtuber was a live-reaction to smash bros announcement and some youtuber were using a raptor and a hamburger avatar. Japanese use live2D like you would use facerig in a zoom meeting. They literally do not care about the "culture", it’s just an avatar to stream while being in pajamas in a shithole apartment.
And if you don’t know about face-cam Japanese streamer, you should also know that they do not give a shit about image and sound quality or even having the most basic light equipment.
