I know you aren't bullshiting because some of HoloEN have mentioned this before but its gotta be only half true. They still play Valve games for example, and on Valves policy page for streaming/monetizing/other related shit they specifically say to not bother contacting them for explicit written permissions because they wont answer such requests. Though maybe Valves a special case because they will let you do pretty much anything and are notorious for being lenient with their IP's sometimes even to a fault (DoTA is the only exception).
