True but they're not doing that

>tfw among us metafag
They do play like scrubs, but on skeld and mira they do stack and make it easy to figure out who is and isn't the imposter if you were playing best on their playstyle
They also *usually* let each other speak in turns orderly and not run the manipulation game due to someone taking the initiative by speaking first

Imposters only win because japan internet fucking sucks and there's desync, and because they're imposing rules on themselves by not playing sweaty

True metafags know it's extremely hard for imposters to win

I'm not smart enough for game design, all I know I know is that in the tryhard lobbies I play in and watch to see strats, everyone keeps tabs on everyone, remembers exact pathing, and knows whose grouped with who making it hard for kills.

Everyone will admit that for tryhard players, among us can never be taken competitively because it's way too hard to balance.

Though the otto mods adding more roles was a step in the right direction with the inclusion of jester, while flawed, is still a good addition

Why does anyone play this garbage game so much? Zoomer hype duh. It got popular with Western zoomers(through a shitty meme oc) and then all the Western YouTubers cashed in making it even more popular. Then the vtuber crowd got to it at the end of the shitty hype train and now it's something they play from time to time. So to answer your first question; it's for views duh. And there is NOTHING special about it. Town of Salem is a better deception game, but it doesn't make for the best streaming content since you're talking instead of running around. Shit I would even rather play mindnight with it's shitty meta and garbage playerbase than among us.

There aren't many other games out there that allows for large collabs like this, and unlike Marika were the only relevant moment is someone seething from losing 7 positions right before the end line, you get a variety of reactions ranging from paranoid to completely off the mark accusations to deflections using such retarded logic people don't even know where to begin to explain how wrong that was. That also provides tons of clippable moments which is a well known catalyst for introducing newcomers to the chuubas

Among Us is a party game, and I mean that in both the most literal and least offensive way possible. It's inspired by social games and it isn't designed to be meta'd into the ground. Playing it that way completely defeats the purpose. It's like try harding at truth or dare. Sure you could do it, but I wouldn't call that person a winner.

grab SS13, remove roles, remove shitcurity, remove AI, remove clowns, also remove atmos, cargo, botany, etc. and turn each department into a single task, remove need for eating, breathing and temperature requirements, remove health, virology, genetics and such; everyone is the same 1hp character. As for gamemodes, remove anything that's not sydicate mode, then water it down to the point there's only 3 possible ways to screw up with people besides stabbing them. Game maps are also watered down: no maintenance access for everyone (at least impostors have vents), no areas that are locked up for certain people, way smaller maps, the largest among us map would fit inside 1/4 of the average SS13 map, and worst of all, map cannot be altered by the players.
Obviously I understand why all of this has been done and why it appeals to people, I just think it's kinda sad that most of the people who play among us will never give SS13 a try

As long as you're alive, yes. But when you're dead, there's nothing for you to do but laugh at other people and do tasks. You either have to be really skilled at it or play consistently with a group of enjoyable people (e.g. collabs).

Think about it anon; games like this are almost pure social interaction. They provide a medium through which large groups of different personalities you may each be interested in individually, to get together all at once, for you to see how they interact with each other, with the format supplying the pretext for them to do so. It's the ultimate collaboration tool.

metafags like you ruin the game, it's not even meant as an ad hominem. The holos and every Lobby I ever had fun with play this on a pretty casual level, once we invited someone who played WAY too much it boiled down to killing him first or get swept first round, otherwise he would pinpoint the imp by shit like how long everyone took for their tasks.

Lets face it, the game is better the LESS you have played it, even some of the holos are getting better and better at it, bumming out the ones playing it casually.
