You also have to remember that leaving cover would mean they make more money. You are no longer getting 50% of 50% of 50% (tax then cover cut then yt cut, numbers are just example/guesses), but instead you're getting 50% of 50%.
Make $2000 with Cover, that turns into $1000 after YT's cut, which turns into $700 to $500 (depending on the Cover cut), which after 50% tax turns into $350 to $250.
Make $2000 as an indie, that turns into $1000 after YT's cut, which turns into $500 after 50% tax.
Of course, the pull of staying in Holo is that you're in a top tier company, the risk you flop after leaving doesn't exist because you haven't left, and you get opportunities you otherwise wouldn't as an indie.
