Thread for the discussion of NASFAQ, a financial market simulator based on holding of coins that represent the members of hololive and some of their mamas.
This is a fake stock market game meant for FUN, not a real stock market (cryptofags will not be happy here either, no real money involved, NO you won't get better at stocks from this).

As others have already mentioned in the thread, inflation wasn't really that important back then since it didn't affect the market like it does now, the main objective right now to factor into long term investments would be tracking individual inflation per coin and figuring out if it will stay consistent for them, for example AKI$ has not inflated at all after reaching $11k and is currently hovering around that price.
I'm interested to see how the market will change once options get added.
I really do care about the thread but, I also don't want to trick people... I can only keep repeating that I won't reveal myself and hope that it's enough to not let someone build up wrong expectations, sadly, I cannot simply put my trust on anyone, but there have already been exceptions with me talking privately with you and Applause, so I'm not going to fully close that door.
>>20631553
I'm checking the thread from bed, so your review will have to wait awhile, but I'll get to it!! You have my word!
>>20706999
While that might seem like the best option currently, you need to separate your possible plays, long-term and short-term, you can't simply ignore one of them to focus on the other, furthermore, as I said above, you are going to have to find a way to evaluate the inflation per coin to choose if it's actually better to hold that coin or use it for short-term plays and then reinvest into other things.
>>20708123
Stay strong, and don't be afraid to post in the thread!! It's pretty empty lately, so it's not like you are interrupting something with blog posting, please take care.
>>20709122
I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one, if it's a legitimate way to make money I don't see why people would ignore it, at worst it's going to get the same treatment as my posts, I talk about averages and how to milk trades, yet most people don't really care and get by channeling their inner grug to buy red and sell green, which is totally fine! I can see the same happening to options, grug won't know how to min-max them at first, or maybe ever, but grug knows that using them on meta coins like MORI$ should be good, and if not, grug can always laugh at the bog like spaghet did.
And honestly, all you need is the returns report, before it came out most in the thread regarded day-trading as something only the new players did, but once you saw Miyatsuko getting $100M+ suddenly everyone wants to day-trade again, just wait for them to pull a huge profit with options and people will start using them, it's a very good report and I'm very thankful for it! Being able to track how you are doing each week and seeing how the changes you make affect your income is the best, which begs the question of, why didn't honk implement something like this? It really is a game changer.

>why didn't honk implement something like this?
Honkler can't even get the site to show the proper % change on adjustment. They're WAY behind on the information compilation game. Numbers Review has existed so long for a reason. If honk put that shit in the game itself I'd be packing up and going dark the same day.

>It's interesting, you seem to have a good understanding of multicoin for buying and abusing 0% coins on buys, yet your sells are very bad.
Surprisingly, this week on the Returns Report I've managed to end up 4th on the Trading Overview (3rd if you look at the Trading Profit column alone) so clearly my sells mustn't be that bad. I did plan my trades around a month or so ago and I'm currently on the trading part, so, unfortunately, I no longer remember how or why I decided on my current strategy for selling. I can tell you however that it's fairly similar to the one for buying, just "mirrored". Probably done that way for simplicity. In any case, I'd be interested in hearing what made you think those sells were very bad, since I don't believe you to be wrong yet the strategy appears to work in practice. Am I missing something from the bigger picture here or is there an inadequacy in the way the Return Reports are presented? I'd love to know your opinion on the matter.
As a side note, I'm expecting to drop from the Trading Overview the following weeks for personal reasons, so if you wanted to check for ones other than this week's look at the those from the past month (last 3, I think) as those match the timeframe I've been implementing this selling strategy.

>basis
So a long while ago the devs wanted to add a feature that implemented "oshicoins" where you could convert your oshi's coins into cosmetic coins that didn't provide dividends. This would replace the oshiboards with holders of that cosmetic coin rather than the real coin. This was also met with heavy backlash because divs were the meta and people were poor. Do you think something like that would help smooth out things in this meta?
>rework
Personally I think the idea was and still is flawed since losing divs from your presumably highest stack is something most active players would not engage with. I do think the idea could've been played around with more before getting completely scrapped tho. Keeping the oshiboard being cosmetic coins should be implemented to give oshicoiners a renewed passion in the game and players something to do. The coins can have the same/slightly less divs as normal coins. Maybe even give buyers of the cosmetic coin a small tax break (4.25% tax instead of 4.5%). Have the punishment be that you can't sell the cosmetic coins, which is in line with oshicoining and isn't as punishing as having no divs.

Seriously what is preventing honk from creating a trader that doesn't require to run your PC 24/7. I'll even throw an idea for honk if he doesn't want everyone to fully use a server-side trader.
An item/feature that we can buy for a ridiculously high price, or a gacha item with a stupidly low RNG that will let us run a server-side trader for a maximum of 12 hours daily, 6 hours daily if 12 hours sound overkill for honk.

>If it's a legitimate way to make money I don't see why people would ignore it.
It is quite simple: from the way it was described, it is the only mechanic that would involve an actual market-like player-to-player trading. That means that if one person gains, the other has to lose - what's even more, Honk wanted for a part of it to be taxed.
Now think about it. How many players would understand this system, and how many players would like to, for example, enter into an options contract with a player who is known to be good at it? The system assumes there's someone who will offer the deal and someone who will accept it, so in order for it to work, both sides need to be confident that such an action is profitable.

If it was a player-vs-broker system though... players would use it and they would milk it, as every other mechanic in the game.

The reason why something like the Returns Report itself wasn't initially implemented was due to the fact that early leaderboard accurately described your performance. It was only after due to inflation and accumulation of wealth that this picture became extremely obscured. And, to Honk's credit, he did add the Benchmark after Miyatsuko first started to experiment with the idea of indicating total returns over a week's period, we just broke it down further into key components.
>>20729037

if you dont want to look at a graph, instead just check each channel and see if they streamed yesterday before midnight gmt
those will be your sub and view spikes, if the stream was after midnight gmt but before adjustment, it will be on tommorrows adjustment
this is why the "19th hour" meme is a thing, its when the api is adjusted everyday

>As I said, I think that the Mori meta is basically self-perpetuating due to overbought/high volume. On the other hand, she's inflating much slower than other coins the last time I checked... which is why she gives better returns on paper.
Not even basically - it IS permanently self-perpetuating now. She regularly tops 30 and 7 day viewcounts, and is close to the top for 30 and 7 day subcounts. Her rate of inflation is significantly slower than everyone else purely due to volume - she's hit a kind of critical mass that's exposed a flaw in how volatility is adjusted.
Sands TL;DR To "fix" the meta, volatility needs a kind of horseshoe modifier. This will further break the meta - coins towards the middle of total subscriber count are - in my opinion, the least "viable" coins in the game - with some exceptions and outliers.

The Soda cycle is a meme. It doesn't exist in any meaningful way. The Brap cycle is very real, except the Brap cycle is broken now. The original Brap cycle had ample opportunity for SELLING Mori - poorfagpac regularly dumped Mori out to 0. Mori's subticks can also break the Brap cycle further. If she gets a 10k subtick on a downbrap - it just cancels it out and you metaphorical "you" - Deadbeats + cypher need not apply - and retards too I guess "lose an opportunity" to 10x Mori.

She'd need a 10k subtick + an upbrap for selling her to ever be viable. Has selling Mori BEEN viable lately? No.

Assuming she kept the same monetary dividend value she had this week - $3165.07 - she'd still have paid the highest dividend % even if the coin price was $36,505 on Friday. You'd need like $50k Mori to even consider selling.

Speaking of which, sort NASFAQ by total subscriber count, descending. The best coins are at the top and the bottom.

>>20749303
Reading poi is easy Anon. The only "hard" part is because it's kind of broken sometimes and the "Last Day" viewcount is sometimes fucked up - it shows 2 days views.

LDN = Last Day Views on NASFAQ
TVN = Total Views on NASFAQ
TVP = Total Views on poi

TVP - TVN > LDN = Going Up
TVP - TVN < LDN = Going Down

Subticks, overbought, and oversold notwithstanding. That is also the extent of the "math" involved in posting these https://i.warosu.org/data/vt/img/0183/09/1644819179522.png - the "hard" part is just remembering to either keep a poi tab from 9 AM open without refreshing it, or copy/pasting the data from NASFAQ market view and getting it to "line-up"

Mori hijinks may not be the most truly optimal decision, but my biggest issue with it is the fact that you’ll still be good/fine dealing with Mori hijinks. To climb at the highest levels, you’ll need the most optimal plays you can get but many don’t play at that optimal level required and further makes it harder to climb for newer players, I think Asdae and Bateman are the two “new” players to reach the top 50 and they’ve been performing well for ages on top of multiple top 50 players not caring/quitting above them. As time goes on, this wall and barrier of entry grows, and the simplicity and yet effectiveness of Mori hijinks along with inflation/appreciation of wallets just makes the game feel very flat leading to the stagnation of the game.
In other words, The core issue is that you can’t go “wrong” with Mori. Other metas like Gura/Rushia eventually went “wrong” (due to dev intervention) but Mori has been like this for months, it feels very stagnant as I stated. Sure I can maybe trade better than nearly all the people around me for weeks, but I’ll likely be doing the same/similar things for months to pass them, which is unsurprisingly, not fun for me or likely many.

Maybe make selling volatility different from buying volatility? This would incentivize selling high-volume coins (since the dips would last for a shorter time, while moons just keep on going) and buying of low-volume coins.

>Maybe make selling volatility different from buying volatility?
Would only work in the aforementioned horseshoe scenario.
High Volume - High Buy Volatility, Low Sell Volatility
Low Volume - Low Buy Volatility, High Sell Volatility
and I wouldn't like it - it'd make the game very very boring - and further cement "middle" coins as garbage

In the current market, you absolutely can go wrong with Mori. Most people overinvest into her, entering into trades that are simply suboptimal and won't give you returns within a reasonable timespan, or at all - all due to inflation making non-Mori coins much better than people assume.

Mori can't be unfucked without NASFAQ's scraper intentionally accounting for the music channel bullshit, which isn't even consistent. Do I think she'd become a shitcoin overnight if she became a normal-function coin? Only as much as Suisei is, probably, so take that as you will.

With the state of the game as it is, the best decision for market health would be for the playerbase itself to start managing it, but good fucking luck getting people to not buy every red they see. We have returned to the argument of a few months previous: Downward adjustments aren't aggressive enough to offset how much people will buy when they see red, and volume is so high that $HOLO can adjust up literally 80k and it is impossible for the playerbase to sell it back down to pre-adjustment, even pushing record numbers for hourly volatility. That's a bit of an outlier case, but it's a well-defined example of how much the playerbase can push a price down.

I don't have a solution for this other than to evaluate the transactional volatility formula. I think the suggestion to make it based on a horseshoe pattern is worth exploring, but on a coin-by-coin basis, not on a macro level.

>> No.20751850

>>20751165
If the volatility issues were fixed as well as scraper issues, she'd likely rise in price and become similar to Gura in terms of returns, meaning 30-40% less returns. I think that an one-time price hike would also be a compensation for diminished returns on further purchases.

I think you and I have different meanings of wrong here, I’m not saying you can’t be suboptimal with Mori or that you’re making reasonable returns in a reasonable timespan, it’s the fact that the ramifications of such actions are significantly smaller than for any other coin, especially if they’re not playing completely retardedly like 10x at 35k and instead only do such thing on braps. Even if a person overinvests and makes a lot of their wallet to oshicoin %s of Mori, they will not go “wrong”, they will not feel the impact of their actions when compared to many others who buy a large % of their oshi/other coins. If Tower or mogu held a shit ton of Mori and stopped playing, their ranks would be higher as a result of dividends. Sure, they might not get the benefits of their respective coins’ inflation but this has only really come into major effect after the removal of caps amplifying such things. It may not be the most optimal thing, nor even a good thing, it’s the fact that such unilateral action has nothing “wrong” with it. I buy one Mori at 16k, I will functionally now have made 15k worth of “profit” when the coin returns to base, a legitimate double your money scheme, and due to Mori’s strong dividends my investment at 16k will pay off in a far shorter time than any other coin. Even 10x buying lots of Mori at 26k may not be the most optimal thing, but the repercussions of such actions are on a smaller scale when compared to buying any other coin at said prices, and Mori’s the only coin where this can happen without really much thought. I do not lose much from such wild actions, especially when compared to many other coins as a result of Mori’s absurdly good and consistent numbers, and the music channel making so you have a free opportunity for purchasing the best coin in the game for an absurdly low price. You do not actively “lose” being suboptimal on Mori, you only actively lose on other coins, like shitcoins or other coins and not planning around them. I can be retarded and not be smart with Mori, but the margins of loss on my retardation is not the same level as one would experience with other coins. I do not deny that such retarded trades are suboptimal, it is merely the fact that those actions are not sufficiently punished like many other coins. Cypher’s retarded constant 10x is definitely not optimal, but it will not be punished within the same timespan it might be for any other coin.

>>20753560
I disagree, to an extent. Yes, obviously buying any coin at absurdly high prices will result in a short-term and a long-term loss due to inflation, but buying a coin like Anya at 10x will result in a loss, but... the loss will be smaller than buying Mori 10x due to Mori's price. Additionally, Cypher-type constant 10x would /technically/ break even (not profit!!!) on its taxes in 30 weeks or so... if we ignore that there are other coins and trades available which would give much higher returns as an alternative. Factor in inflation, and you will see that you will actually never recuperate those losses compared to alternative trades. Yet people will still blindly and stupidly buy her just because they think she is much better than she really is. She’s a coin you should probably always buy at or slightly above her average price. She isn’t a coin you should buy when she’s way overpriced. A large part of the current state of Mori and her inflated volume is due to players failing to understand that.

I agree that stupid cypher-level buying of Mori will be stupid and not actually gain an individual much and will likely result in net losses, but the margins of these losses are not as drastic as it would be for any other coin. On top of the fact many players aren't at the level of Cypher-grugness. It's the path of least resistance/thinking if you need to 0 out divs and buy a coin that won't fail you, it's not a matter of people thinking she's better than what she is, hell, most people don't want to buy Mori from what I can tell, it's the fact that you can't really fuck up with such simpleminded behavior.
>She’s a coin you should probably always buy at or slightly above her average price.
This is really my core issue with it as it stands, I do think that high number should equal high worth, but the same thing has happened in the past with Rushia/Gura which resulted in changes occurring to try and stop such unilateral things, but haven't occurred for Mori for months.

NTA but I hear you 110% on the "reprecussions" for Mori.
If I forget to adjust multi-coin on Kiara: I AM FINANCIALLY RUINED.
If I forget to adjust multi-coin on Mori: oh no, more dividends.
I really don't want to buy more Mori at this point. Haven't gone higher than 6x lately and actually gradually need to move my "buy price" down. I'm going to lose my fucking crown at this rate.
Re: Devs/Rushia/Gura - I think "fixing" Mori would require a drastic overhaul of how the adjustment algorithm deals with "Susan" days. Any of the cockamamie ideas I could think of while typing this introduce more problems than they solve.

Have Mori "not adjust" when the API doesn't actually have new numbers for her
>Was everyone buying 10x yesterday? How do you handle how overbought she is?

Have "overbought" scale proportionally with a coin's volume. And by that I mean, the higher a coin's volume, the "stronger" the overbought mechanic corrects it back to the "baseline" black magic price honkler has.
>Unfair to single one coin out?
>Will result in low volume coins becoming PnD schemes...or even just Pump and Get Rich

You do realize that if you make overbought stronger, further driving her price down, she'll become an even better coin, right? The issue with Mori is that constant overbought + high volume + scraper issues bog her down in the 20k-30k range, while with those divs she should be priced at around 45k, like Sui/Gura.

I am almost willing to guarantee you that overbought has fuck all to do with Mori's dips - because you can gauge how "powerful" it is on other coins. It does nothing.
It's going from 972k views to 68k...which isn't inherently a scraper issue, it's the API itself. All of the other coins operate on the "accumulate views for 24h" metric and sometimes Mori shows up for 48h straight with nothing and then gets 'em all at once.

You can very clearly see the evidence of overbought working across the market, and Mori in particular. On average during the last three weeks, her price went up by $6008 during the day due to players buying her, while her average adjustment totaled to -$6553.
During the same period, an the average coin value growth throughout the day was $785, while adjustments brought them down by -$731.

Overbought is keeping the prices from hyperinflating across the entire market.

The heat of battle flared and faded day after day. The Machine and its cruel mockeries of human form were unrelenting, targeting the syndicate's members both within the confusing passages of the void and the familiar venues of the waking world. Many of the group's members fled into hiding, were swallowed up by the void's tendrils, or lay face down in a pool of crimson fluids. The tools of the Machine searched and searched; the days between finding their prey growing longer and longer but they did not tire or falter.

A dim light bulb swung slowly in the cellar of a forgotten estate. Casks of wine and barrels of stored nuts and meats were strewn about in the wake of an oil soaked automaton. It stood before a mighty iron door slamming its ramrod appendages against the scarred surface. The cheap metal of its "arms" warped and cracked as it repeatedly deepened the dent in the center of the door. The light overhead flickered and continued its pendulous motion.
Hours passed. The automaton's "arms" wore to useless stubs before it began using the "legs" supporting it to batter the metal between it and whatever lay beyond the door. In the hallways layered above the estate cellar, oil portraits of the presumed owner rattled and rocked on their mounts. The dignified face of the presumed owner was dwarfed by the exquisitely detailed and massive furred tail behind his torso.
At long last the crinkled body of the automaton crashed over the threshold into a dimly lit concrete room. The dull clank seemed to permeate farther than a human eye could see in the darkness. The murderous red gleam in the automaton's "eye" was in stark contrast to a dim aquamarine glow somewhere deep within. It beckoned.
The warped mess of metal steadily dragged itself across the raw floor; the metal made an ugly screech which drowned out the soft thrum of the enormous system which occupied the room. Strange banks which almost resembled bookcases flickered slightly as the lump of machinery drew itself past them toward the soft glow. Eventually, through a labyrinth of strange and foreign equipment, the heap of scrap lay before an even more peculiar construct.
A metallic and synthetic visage was illuminated by faint lights traced across wires of varying size and color. The wires stretched in all directions, behind and around the semblance of a human face, into a partial "torso" with stronger lights emanating from behind a synthetic protective plate. The countenance was expressionless and did not seem as though it even had the ability to do such a human thing.
The automaton, with its red glare, beheld the figure. For a long while there was no more activity in the room. The hum of glowing system continued as did the whirr of the automaton's motors, gears, and springs. The piercing red light began to fade slowly.

The smoke stack, long having poured dense black exhaust from its peak, stopped briefly. The man in his wheelchair set his glass of water down and gazed with amazement and curiosity as the smokestack started anew, first dispelling its familiar black soot then steadily lightening and clearing to a thin fog. The man nearly knocked over the book and glass from the table at his side as he wheeled about and raced down to the housing of his creation.

Tendrils flurried past the lone Apprentice, striking the three mechanized behemoths that pursued him. They hardly faltered before cutting down the dripping black appendages. Oil mixed with the trail of crimson before being swallowed up into the depth of the void.
Unable to bear the pain in his abdomen and negotiate the path ahead, he stumbled and fell crudely into a hard mass in the abyss. He turned, clutching the wound in his side, only to see the towering mechanisms looming above. The center monstrosity raised its sharpened appendage and it's fiery "eye" flickered in the blackness around it. The Apprentice shut his eyes and braced for a strike which did not come.

In the dim aquamarine glow of the cellar room of the forgotten estate, many constructs gathered. Each with a faint red light in it's "eyes" and an "offering" in its "hand". Machines, large and small, placed warped and crude facsimiles of sculpture before the synthetic figure wired to its elaborate metallic system. Masses of metal littered the concrete floor around the suspended torso. Beneath the torso, buried under a mass of wires and scraps, lay a plaque engraved with the letters P-A-G-I.

The wheelchair rested before the console of the man's creation. The punched tape had stopped flowing from its orifice for many minutes. The man curiously caressed the interface as he read the tape's message over and over again.

In case I need to say it louder for those in the back: this is the conclusion of the zaibatsu themed loreposts. At least, I don't feel like there's much more that I could write. ThinkPad x PagiBot fanfic isn't exactly an inspiring story.
I'll be taking a break from loreposting for a while since real life is suddenly very important. Unless something really inspires me to start another long form story like this, I'll probably stick to shorts and one-offs when I have the time.

Numbers-chama, that isn't what I mean at all.
The point I am trying to make is that dropping more than 900k views from one day to the next is why Mori isn't skyhigh. Overbought just drags her down (ever so slightly) between "big" view updates.

Just release Mori at her 'true' price. If she stays at 40k or 45k she'd be just another top coin, same as all other performers.

You keep talking about irregular "big" updates, but they should skyrocket her price. Do you know what was Mori's largest adjustment in the past two weeks? +$4039. And that was on a day where she got 1,000,000 views (3/17) compared to yesterday's 85,000.

+915,000 daily views difference for mere +4k adjustment.

17k. That means players increased it by 10k during the day.

But, mind you, looking at those numbers /not/ in a playerless vacuum means looking at overbought in action. I am fairly confident that honk uses the value immediately prior to the adjustment as a part of the formula, not the previous adjustment value. This is why you have such events as extreme price hikes changing the baseline of a coin.

You can view how the price of a coin has changed over the past 24 hours on the coin's market module on the market page. A coin's price will be added to the graph every 16 transactions, or on each quarter hour if more than 15 minutes have passed since the last tick; whichever comes first.

In addition to the price updates that occur as a result of shifts in demand, the prices will receive an adjustment once daily at 9:05am ET based on the Youtuber's channel performance. The end-of-day market price is taken into account when determining how much to adjust. If a bullish coin is experiencing a bubble, it will adjust downwards towards a base value determined by performance. A bearish coin that is currently undervalued will adjust upwards by a performance variable factor, rewarding those who held an undervalued coin. Adjustments seek to "make up" for ground that hasn't been covered by demand-based adjustments alone. In this way, users are forced to make smarter decisions on which coins they should hold based on their own assessment of a coin's fundamental value.

I know this is how overbought works. What I mean is that you hold two conflicting ideas: that only the price immediately after adjustment matters for the adjustment itself rather than the price immediately before it, and that overbought "is engaged when the new adjustment price is greater than the prior adjustment price but less than the current price".

You've missed four spots where a coin ultimately adjusted to a price higher than the day before it, but pre-adjustment price was much higher. These are spots where overbought has kicked in.

Beyond that, there's other evidence: Look at Hololive today. 130k previous adjustment price. 90k closing day price. Daily views change is positive, weekly views change is positive. 10k subtick. Result? Going from 90k to 96k. Oversold is on, but you'd expect a massive positive adjustment here if it depended on previous adjustment price.

I think that the adjustment itself takes the pre-adjustment price, but due to how it works overbought/oversold consider previous adjustment prices.

See #1. Numbers do support this - but the "adjustment" is "adjusting" from the previous adjustment price when you're considering what overbought is using as its comparison point.
>What I mean is that you hold two conflicting ideas: that only the price immediately after adjustment matters for the adjustment itself rather than the price immediately before it, and that overbought "is engaged when the new adjustment price is greater than the prior adjustment price but less than the current price".
No - you're reading way too autistically into what I said.
Assume adjustment is meant to be upwards - fuck subticks right now. Doubled daily views. That adjustment amount is evaluated vs. the previous market open price. If the market closed price already reached or exceeded that value, then overbought kicks in. You don't need machine learning to understand how that works.
>You've missed four spots where a coin ultimately adjusted to a price higher than the day before it, but pre-adjustment price was much higher. These are spots where overbought has kicked in.
You keep saying this. I don't have any data other than the graphs in front of me, so if you actually have the numbers, please make proving your point easier for the both of us and just show them. If I'm seeing other larger drops - I am assuming that they're because views or subs were lower. I'd rather concede that you're right because I believe that you're right than continue arguing in circles.

w.r.t Hololive - this is rrats - but that would just lead me to believe that consecutive 10k daily subticks do not stack. Could be something like a status that compares the prior day's state - ie. delta daily subticks is still 0. So instead of getting the boost from another daily subtick, we just didn't get the drop from it falling off.
Also, yes, Hololive would've been "oversold" kicking in - and that's case-in-point what I'm trying to say about Mori. Overbought does not move a coin TO the price it "should" have adjusted to - only "slightly towards" it. Were you around for overbought 1.0? It was far more drastic - not in a "total $ amt" because coins were worth far less, but in a % adjustment amount. Current overbought is piss in the wind compared to the OG - and now I suspect oversold might have had similar limiters placed on it. BTW the daily view change for Hololive was negligible - 3.8m to 4.1m? C'mon.

>> No.20788285

My point is: the "adjustment" is adjusting from the pre-adjustment price. However, overbought uses previous adjustment price as a comparison point.

I don't understand why you keep explaining overbought like I don't know what it is. I've said multiple times it is that, but you keep repeating the same fucking points instead of addressing the thing you're awfully wrong at.

>BTW the daily view change for Hololive was negligible - 3.8m to 4.1m? C'mon.
If you think "the "adjustment" is "adjusting" from the previous adjustment price" then you have to explain the adjustment happening with all those positive values from 130k to 96k... rather than a 90k to 96k, with oversold trending towards a certain value.

I keep repeating myself because you've missed my point since the beginning. Allow me to spell it out in far simpler terms:
Overbought is so fucking weakly tuned right now that it's effectively a forced crab mechanic - exactly the scenario we had when it didn't exist. And oversold too - since you've made this about that as well.

Indeed, those are the four spots. You can access the numbers yourself in the graph, I'm not your nanny. These four would have an overbought component to them, even if their views went down... because of how it works. And how you explained it will tell you exactly why, since all the boxes are checked.
"Weakly tuned" isn't a small thing when adjustments are multiplicative from the pre-adjustment price. It kicked in 9 times out of 28-ish adjustments in this graph, essentially preventing Mori from recovering, which is made even harder due to her low volatility.
As I said, it's based on pre-adjustment price, and is multiplicative: having 0.9x modifier put in front 1/3rd of the time WILL bog a coin further from the price it'd normally reach... which is what's happening with Mori and why she cannot recover lately.

I mean, we removed the upwards adjustment cap. Adding a downwards one in just seems like putting a handicap in the game.
Having adjustments "cache" for music coins seems like it could work? But how do you determine how often they should "actually" be? IDK. I didn't mean it created more problems than it solved - just that someone would likely say so.

I kinda want the upwards adjustment cap back at least in some for $10k cap was stupid and should be higher but the no cap is allowing for some black magic fuckery increasing coin baselines
I don’t think it would be a handicap, it’s not like those downticks wouldn’t occur anymore, it just would result in Mori not going from $35k to $15k while giving $3k in dividends, she’ll still drop but not as large of a margin, still allowing good profits but passively discouraging her from being bought as much and possibly bringing her to a more accurate coin price and not being good to nearly constantly buy than what she sits at when she isn’t on the cycle.

My point is, you have the data, and you can get those four datapoints if you want. I won't do your fucking work for you.

Honk defined Overbought as:
>As always, the overbought mechanic applies to coins that would adjust up but were bought to a price higher than where they would have gone ignoring market activity.
Look at those four points.
>Would adjust up ignoring market activity - check
>Have been bought to a price higher than the final adjustment - check
According to your (wrong) view of adjustments being based off the previous adjustment, these would be overbought by definition. It doesn't matter what the numbers were there.
That being said, there is an alternate explanation where the price of a coin is based off pre-adjustment price and they have adjusted down... which would mean that we're dealing with two thresholds - "Overbought" threshold using previous adjustment price and what would be the adjustment using pre-adjustment price.

Do you understand it now? In the second case, overbought can kick in EVEN IF a coin ultimately adjusts up. Which loops back to the 4k increase for +915k views. When Mori braps down, she doesn't recover because the value overbought uses to trigger is much lower than the projected 2-day views adjustment using pre-adjustment price.

Ability to use information. Pure analytical data does not a trader make, the ability to use said information does. No hostility or mockery intended to anyone, but a grug with good intuition will outperform a knowledgeable trader who is using the wrong general principles/ideas of the market or fails to utilize his data effectively.

Knowledge of strategies that cannot be easily translated to analytical bots or sheets is another one. The fact that Coco is not significantly above her "true" average price, the fact that Rushia is not an extremely good deal right now, or the fact that the brap cycle allows for the safe selling of mori near 40k, for example, are all things that a bot or a trader that relies purely on numbers emphasis on "purely" may not pick up.

Its false to think that a grug player is somehow fundamentally "stupider" than an analytical trader is, their information is just formed and processed differently. While an analytical trader has a sheet that tells him the average prices of each coin, a good enough grug knows the rough estimates for them intuitively. The information is essentially the same, although a grug player is likely to be less accurate with his estimates, whereas an analytical trader may have his data corrupted by anomalies which can last for weeks as was the case with fubuki's shiny magicarp divs unless he is very rigorous with his data. To be fair, falling into the pit-trap that is long-term anomalies is possible for a grug too.

But zhonkbot uptime and oshicoining intensity as well as how good the oshicoin actually is do matter a lot too, if not more than the above points.

Firstly, go fuck yourself. Secondly, TL;DR - I am not right, but neither are you. The blue boxes represent the only areas where overbought would've been active. I think. Still drinking my coffee.

Let's figure out what those four points even are.
The first one is in February - manually preparing this data going back to March 1st was already a bigger pain in my ass than your dumb Machine Learning ass has been, if you want to argue that point, go get your own fucking numbers as well.
The second point is the adjustment that happened on March 9th, third point is March 15th, and the fourth point is the adjustment on the 19th.
>Look at those four points.
>>Would adjust up ignoring market activity - check
Wrong. The adjustment on the fifteenth was net negative views. By your own logic, overbought kicked in on the 14th, which I did originally have highlighted as an instance where it was, for some reason, active. On the fifteenth, if anything, it stacked with what should've been a downwards adjustment anyways. The market pulled her price further up.
>>Have been bought to a price higher than the final adjustment - check
>According to your (wrong) view of adjustments being based off the previous adjustment, these would be overbought by definition. It doesn't matter what the numbers were there.

Because it IS lower.

>>20821212
You're still, still missing my point, even after so many posts. You admit that overbought stacked with the negative adjustment, meaning that it also kicked in on March 15th, driving it further.

Let me ask you a question, then: if a) adjustments happen using the previous adjustments as base AND b) the views/subs/parameters for the adjustments are in the negative then riddle me why isn't the adjustment at March 15th lower than the previous adjustment?

I'll tell you why: because pre-adjustment prices are used. As Honk has said, as numbers support it, and as logic supports it (since it's THE stat that lets market "influence" prices, if it was previous adjustment price then players would have no say in prices of coins, and the market inflates somehow).

Why is this important? Because, as I've mentioned before, overbought uses previous adjustment prices to determine whether to kick in or now, while adjustments themselves use pre-adjustment prices. This means that you can have a positive adjustment WITH OVERBOUGHT BRINGING IT DOWN FROM WHERE IT "SHOULD" BE. Combine this with wildly varying deltas and multiplicative nature of adjustments (since standard deviation of adjustments as a whole rises at roughly the pace of inflation), and you suddenly realize that due to the wild scraper fluctuations Mori is hit with overbought non-stop, even when she adjusts up, and this keeps her price down.

You're right that the wild deltas are the source of the issue, but it's because they let overbought be kicked-in non-stop after every red day, even if she adjusts upwards.

>>20822477
>previous adjustment is 23k

Lemme just get this one out of the way first with picrel. It's enough on its own. There are no other channels that post negative numbers this fucking massive and as frequently!

Even Holo...has what, two big red days a week? Its pattern is more organic - Hologra views don't drop like a rock. "Everyone" watches Hologra on Sunday, but Holo gets residual VOD views from older eps, has other streams, people don't necessarily "all" watch it on Sunday, etc. It doesn't go from +2m to -1m like Ms. Reaper. Holofes exception...pls don't be a nigger, I'm retarded, but I'm not an idiot. If I'm talking nonsense about Holo's numbers as an example here, please correct me. And I mean this independent of the market - or adjustments. Holofes is a perfect example of why the upwards adjustment cap might have actually been the "lid" on a broken "reaction mixture".

>>20780686
>Adjustment acts upon the prior -adjustment- price.
Should've been clearer here - and this ensuing heated discussion is completely on me. Dogeza. "Adjustment ONLY acting upon the prior adjustment price" was not a point I was ever trying to make. Poor choice of words on my part - omitting "also" Adjustment ALSO acts upon the prior -adjustment- price or not saying "considers" instead of acts, you name it. You are correct in arguing with me for saying that.

Previous adjustment price vs. "intended adjustment" is THE factor for how OVERBOUGHT is triggered on a green day. We agreed on that much anyways - that was the context there. But we did get good discussion out of it.

>(since it's THE stat that lets market "influence" prices, if it was previous adjustment price then players would have no say in prices of coins, and the market inflates somehow).
and again, you misunderstood me, that's on me. I never meant to imply that it was ONLY previous adjustment price. But there is a reason Blondes-sama logs that number, and I don't think it's solely because he is a completionist ;)

Adjustment factoring in the previous adjustment and/or "the baseline" with some indeterminate weight is an effect that you develop a "gut feeling" for and was one of the things I meant when I was talking about "mahjong sands". I am sure other grugs agree. It's "stronger" when the market wants to force prices up, and is more forgiving on hiatus coins...or Civia/Coco. Where you're opening my eyes is implying that this too is "overbought" in scenarios where I would not assume it is - specifically: green stats, green day.

I got sidetracked arguing about Mori "only" going up $4000 being overbought in action, Holo, arguing about the adjustment algorithm itself which I initially thought was ultimately meaningless but am now realizing could be a big factor in all of this..

>This means that you can have a positive adjustment WITH OVERBOUGHT BRINGING IT DOWN FROM WHERE IT "SHOULD" BE.
...I get what you mean but I don't think it's happening. It looks like it's rubber banding - again, I get what you're saying - I am saying it's her negative numbers..
My point was that +$4k = overbought is or rather SHOULD BE impossible devs...are you...is this fucker right? You SHOULD only be seeing "overbought" if the resulting adjustment vs. pre-adjustment is downwards/red AND when the stats are green. I didn't think there was any ambiguity about this when the mechanic was originally introduced in the summer.

>at roughly the pace of inflation
Which is not consistent from coin to coin.

>Where did that 4k come from, if previous adjustment prices are used? Not from views. Or from subs. Last time I checked, 27k is higher than 23k.
My fault again, they're both factors & I did not mean to imply that it only acted on one or the other. Overbought kicking in on a red day ain't a thing because "crabbing" a red/hiatus coin has been a thing forever. "Crabbing red" didn't change when overbought was introduced. Haato, anyone? Those were hiatus/crab tier red numbers on the 14th - which if anything, I see as proving my very first point: OVERBOUGHT IS WEAK AF YO.

+760k views gave us +$8,789.14 vs. the previous adjustment value. Overbought was triggered on the 14th - to the tune of a net -$2,193.07 adjustment. Going from +760k views to -67k views was enough for a net -$3,235.57 adjustment. 50% stronger than overbought...ergo - overbought ain't shit son. At least in the cases where we can both completely agree it was very much in effect.

I understand what you are trying to say, you don't need to further bash your head in trying to explain it to grug. I am not convinced you're right, but if you are, what the fuck...

By the way, there is considerably more to this than we've tunnel-visioned ourself into arguing about. Don't the magnitudes of individual coins' adjustments factor "the rest of the market" in as well? i.e. Mori getting +1m views means less on a day where several other coins had good numbers.

Mori's own #s changing might be even more meaningless in a "one coin" vacuum and easily explain things like +$4000 but I sure as hell don't feel like repeating all of that work for these other coins.

Way to miss the forest for the trees.

Any other day I'd tell you you were right. Responding in kind to "well akshully" isn't smug.

>20827830
Fuck it.
On the 17th:
Coco's -10k weekly subtick fell off and she lost a few hundred daily VOD views delta...giving her a +$20k adjustment. kek. Topkek even. That's not broken at all. Nope.
Subaru +236,492 views, +10k Daily Subtick
Ina +168,909 views, 10k Daily Subtick Fell Off...
...
Iroha +174,456 views, 1k Daily Subtick fell off, weekly dropped from 3k to 2k
Pekora +152,466 views, no sub activity
Calliope +916,374 views, +10k Daily Subtick

This is why I prefer the grug life. Trying to look at this analytically doesn't actually make any fucking sense and now not only am I less confident in all of the shit I argued, I have new questions.

Adjustment scales inversely with volume? Overbought intensity scales proportionally with volume? WHY WAS COCO LIKE THIS?! Mori would've been the one dragging them down...not vice versa. So the adjustments themselves are what are compared/scaled between coins...and not the numbers?

[ANNOUNCEMENT]

Returns Report temporary archive has been updated yesterday

For any potential bread bakers, if you can, please use the following link from now on: https://rentry.org/returnsreport
There are no changes between the above version of the report and the one currently in the OP other than the former having a shiny new url which I like as it looks cool and professional and all. The old link will function for now, and is also updated with the latest report, but I don't know for how long we are going to keep it updated.

On slightly related news, a certain helpful hooman has been shanghaied to help me with the writefaggotry and Returns Report archives, so if you see someone other than me making edits, do not be alarmed, the lore document has not been breached. Massive thanks to them for helping.

That is all.

20862093

Hello There.
There are two new sections of the MOVE Data.
The first is the Max Margin vs Value, which shows how much profit would be gleaned from selling now had you bought at the lowest day in the last 14 days, or the maximum profit possible from such a transaction. As with the normal Margin Value, this is also compared against average Dividend payout.
The other new section (found starting in Column AD) compares Dividend payouts to Taxes Paid. This section shows whether dividends are enough to cover the cost of the transaction's taxes, and if it does not, how many weeks (on average) you would need in order for dividends to have paid off the taxes completely and start generating a profit on their own. This will hopefully help people looking to focus more on dividends identify good investment points long-term.

Hope these tools help in the future.

In my defense, you had enough to sell x2 for 2 days in a row, I thought that would be enough, but little did I know that AYAME$ was going to stay at that price for 3 days in a row...
>>20722476
I say that those sells were bad because you were literally losing money on those trades at that time, it probably doesn't affect you that much since they were only a 8% loss at most if I recall correctly, meaning that they are good during the day and had only started to bleed you around the time I made the post, it's just a matter of adjusting your bot.
>>20722808
>>20735934
I mentioned that as an example of me changing my mind, despite saying that I would like to keep everything only in the thread I still talked with them, hence why I'm not discarding the possibility that something might change in the future.
>>20748091
I change my stance then! That's a very dumb system, why would anyone willingly take a losing contract?
>>20749250
Call it what you want, I'm just being honest here, it would be dumb to ignore them and not look at their actions, let alone say that they don't show what's possible to do, it's very clear that they are way ahead of everyone in market knowledge, and I say this basing it off only two members, Triangle and Applause, both were always 1st and 2nd in the trading report when they didn't need to buy MORI$ x10 and even while that happened, they didn't drop that much in the rankings, furthermore, Triangle is always participating in discussion, and Applause is just insane might have cracked dividends insane, I really can't even begin to understand how he came up with these things in the first place, and that's just the deadbeats, 2 out of 10 members, I can't image the kind of experimental things they have made.
But no, I don't want to join Miyatsuko and I will never do it, as I've said before, I'll always stay for the thread.
>>20631553
And now on to the main event, Ava-chan's wallet review~!
As a disclaimer I would like to say that I don't consider myself that great at analyzing wallets, I'm more about looking at the market, trades, long-term and short-term and coin behavior, nonetheless, I'll try to give it my best for you!!
For starters, I think that in general your wallet looks good for your rank, but there's a few things that I would like to point out:
>MORI$
You may be relying too heavily on her, there was already a lengthy discussion in this thread about MORI$, so I won't go into much detail, but you are probably having trouble when deciding when to sell given her constant change in price, also, MORI$ does not inflate at the same rate as most of the other coins in the market (specially if you look at other "meta coins"), while this is good for building a stack and dividend plays, it means that if you relay too heavily into her you'll get left behind as other players investing into other coins get carried not only by dividends but by inflation.
An example of you making good usage of this with meta coins are GURA$, SUISEI$ and PEKORA$ granted you are most likely going to sell SUISEI$ after her birthday live (if not tomorrow) and GURA$ after her MV views get counted, but they are all good dividend coins when bought on a discount and in the past month PEKORA$'s and SUISEI$'s average have both moved up by around $8k, while GURA$'s moved up $7K, while MORI$ is only up by around $3k (maybe even less).
So essentially, You need to diversify your bonds, chocoball!
>AKI$, NANA$
I know that most of your low amount coins are for day-trading, but these two bother me, they are shitcoins, plain and simple, and to make them even worse, they are not inflating, assuming you bought those on discount you should've fliped them for a profit by the end of the day, they are just deadweight in your wallet.
>Stacks.
By that same logic, I'm looking at anything over 100 coins as a stack that you are keeping around, already said my thoughts on MORI$ and PEKORA$, as for BOTAN$, MIKO$ (excellent choice) and NOEL$, they are all good, special mention to NOEL$ as she's often a coin that gets ignored, but she is outright good, also I see that your LAMY$ is going up fast, she's a very good coin too! Lastly, you have lots of TOWA$ I think she's coming back from a break, so anything could happen here, I'm partial to selling myself, but you might want to wait to see her dividends.
>WATAME$
Listen up little hooman, this is the one coin that you can't ignore! I'm not sure how many have figured it out by now but WATAME$ is one of the most promising coins in the market currently, her weekly shorts are hologra tier, you are going to buy her even she's near average, or even above that, her price will do nothing but increase from the short's inflation and her spikes are going to make you lots of money.
There are many good posts in this thread that I want to reply to, but I'm dead tired and need to shower, I may do it later, specially the MORI$ discussion.
