This is actually common here too. You see a lot of people even the young doing this shit. There's really this narrow bar of people who had computers from about the 80s to those who grew up before smartphones really took off that seem the most computer literate since they had no choice. However as much as I'd like that to be true even this might be bullshit because people I know who also grew up in this time period don't know anything about computers. I guess it takes a certain type where everyone else uses them as means to an end like a car.
