I've been getting a little worried recently. /rose/ went into seclusion a while back because it was getting really overrun by schizos and such, but with the rise of /OBSY/ I'm a little scared that /rose/ is just permanently gone now. If that's the case, I don't know what's going to happen to all the lore I wrote. Will it all be scrapped? Do I have to augment it to fit to /OBSY/? Should I start writing for /OBSY/ instead of /rose/, since it seems to be the successor? I'm getting more and more nervous about it, I don't know what to do.

Damn that sucks, I didn't know /rose/ had problem with schizos too t. deadbeat it's messed up to sperg out about this sweetheart.
One thing for sure, nothing is getting scrapped. What was written while /rose/ existed is part of the history of the world and should remain forever more.
Here is what I would suggest, the next time we update the borders of the map (which currently doesn't have /OBSY/), let /OBSY/ appear as a new territory which includes /rose/, and parts of /HAHA/ and /nijien/, and let /rose/ continue to exist as an entity which is a province of /OBSY/. Regarding lore organization, perhaps we can have subsections under countries which have absorbed other generals? Such that there would be a /OBSY/ heading, and a /rose/ subheading. I think this is a situation that will likely occur again and again, so it would be good to figure out how to deal with it, a province system would be a good way I think.
Lore-wise, you could say under the repeated assaults of schizo war bands, /rose/ has decided to draw itself closer to its neighbors, or something along those lines. That's up to you obviously, just an idea.

To the meatboys. Since i dont think /uuu/ is gonna say anything anytime soon I suppose your going to be next on the visit list. I actually want to do inf as well but i simply thought there was no need since they have 2 cities and a road in our territory. Still something to keep note of since im sure risuners would be curious what goes on there. And I have many ideas of how things would play out so just wait a bit longer. Still doing the luknight visit and a bit of things at /rose/

To the map bro. Whats gonna happen to NijiKR/NijiID? Are they gonna perform a rushia and simply get taken over by other people after time has passed? Just curious. Also curious about placements of the 3 holoID girls since their threads appear to be somewhat active. Ill be waiting.

And now to continue with lore re writing.

In terms of the threads, nijiKR becomes /kr/ (although they have been talking about non-niji Korean vtubers for a while before then), while nijiID threads are still active, so they're still fine for now. Probably just need to change /kr/'s label on the map.

I'm sorry to hear that, rosebud. As for how to handle the lore, if /rose/ as its own thread is indeed gone for good (feels it's still too soon to tell) and be replaced by /obys/, then we can assume /rose/ allies itself with followers of Selen and Petra and become /obys/. A sufficiently decentralised alliance of sort like that should allow /rose/'s lore to be kept as-is? As for the cause of this alliance, maybe we can go with what >>23250698 said.

While organising the /meat/ lore entry, one thing that comes back to me is the coral reeves. The climate's generally suitable for its development, but I can't help but feel it needs some flavour to not just be a big fuck-off sea wall against naval invasions.
One thing that I want to address is that it currently spans across a good chunk of the coastline, which might be a bit too excessive, especially when considering that most of /meat/'s northern and eastern coast would look like picrel, and that's before taking into account any /meat/ shenanigans.
I think the densest part (where they can actually cause significant damage to ships when rammed against) of the coral reef can be on the western side of the country instead, since the other sides are pretty well-protected as is. As for giving it more /meat/ flavour, maybe concentrated Comma-themed sacrifice there (e.g. conducted by and/or done to Comma priestesses?) can put enough additional nutrients (and chuubanite) into the ecosystem to cause them to grow more plant-like, maybe looking like some kind of colourful marine thorn bushes?

>Rosemi's setlist
It's amazing.
As for the coral thing, I think making them big enough to screw with humans as >21893746 said might be a bit too much. That said, I think we can still have the coral aesthetics after checking Comma's site (for her latest... report). Maybe instead of coral polyp, it's actually more like Comma's undisguised form that live in something resembling an enlarged coral reef.
The idea's that when they feed on humans, their flesh is consumed for their nutrients (although other foreign marine animals and algae are fair game too), while their bones are repurposed by the creatures to expand the coral reef. Sacrifices are done regularly by Comma's clergy, although when Comma's priestesses decide to retire, it's also seen as a proper way to go as they join the expanding clonal creature.
This touches on both streamers from Comma's group (although leaning more towards Comma), which I think seems fitting for her lore. There's a third member (Donna) whose lore is being a bug that provides internal organs, but Donna isn't a streamer, so I don't know if that should be included.

cold-water tropical reefs seem like a bit of an oxymoron, but look at modern day Hawaii, where the average water temp gets NOTICEABLY cooler as you move from Kona to Midway. Hence the greater density of rare corals and endemic species like Bandit Angelfish and Seale's Grouper. Or even certain waifs and strays like Phoenix Island Damselfish.

Thank you all for the kind words and advice. For now, I'm going to keep working with the assumption that /rose/ is still around. /OBSY/ seems to be having a rocky start, so it may fail to become a stable thread. If that's the case, /rose/ may make a return and I won't have to do anything. After a few weeks, there should be a stable thread for me to work with either way. Worst case scenario, maybe I'll have to start writing for /NijiEN/ itself.

Welcome!
This thread's basically just a fun little project where we make this board into a functional world, where the individual threads are countries and the vtubers as their gods (mostly). Because of that, we sometimes discuss about what happens to other threads, and whether we have to update our map to reflect changes in this board. /kr/'s fine in terms of activity, though, just some confusions due to the recent merger also feel free to join in if this happens to be your particular kind of autism.

I see, I can give a little bit of a QRD on KR stuff:
- A lot of NijiKRs have reincarnated
- Isegye Idol are one of the top vtubers on Twitch, not just in Korea but globally
- A lot of KR indie corporations have popped up, emulating what happened in the EN market, a few get above 100CCV, most of them around that number, and a lot more of them fewer than that, but the numbers are growing.
- Market continues to grow
That's about it for the /kr/ stuff. Not sure if stuff like that becomes 'lore' but hopefully it might be of some use to people here.

That Potion Craft stream's also making me feel things, and I have to pay a visit to /wg/. Answering questions and other thread-related duties are still available, though. I can also write responses and such for the Risuners' visit to /meat/ as well.

>> No.23328932

The brush question got me interested in Risuner grooming. Since Risuners are squirrels they probably don't like baths and showers. So I was thinking maybe they spit bathe with scrub brushes and rags. Spit bathing is where you wash yourself using a sink or a pot of water and wash yourself without pouring water on you. Exception to spit bathing would probably be to shampoo the hair and tail once in a while. Finding water would be no problem in /risu/. Its finding "clean" water that's difficult.

As for brushes they can be made out of soft fibers or horse hair glued to a slab of wood. Brushes need to be firm yet soft enough to comfortably brush the fur. Also do Risuners have remedies for dealing with fleas and ticks?

the font is done babey!!! this finally eliminates the process of constantly copying and pasting glyphs in ms paint
also, to write lower diacritics with N, V, or S, you just have to "capitalize" them (so just use shift)
also, if you need to write two vowels in a row (or start a word with one), you put them over/under what W would be, looks like a weird L. you can put them under or over if you want, no one cares, maybe i'll change the glyph to be unique for this later on. i also fixed the glitch where glyphs would separate or not render properly in programs that manipulate the vectors like wordpad, so that's nice.

It just might!
QRD on how the immune system (and allergy works):
>Your immune system mostly comprises of B cells and T cells.
>These cells are each made differently, each theoretically binding to a specific antigen that would trigger immune response.
>When these cells undergo maturation (usually in bone marrow and thymus - the latter is where T cell got its name, incidentally), they're selectively killed if they either a) do not work at all or b) binds to antigen that the body already has, or are generally considered harmless.
>Allergies (and autoimmune diseases) stem from a failure of selection when it comes to (b), so these cells survive in your system.
>When they bind to the harmless antigen (usually called allergen in this context), they trigger your immune response that will both give you a bad time, and make the next time generally worse.
IRL there are no (proven) treatments for allergy since we don't know how to make the relevant organs recognise and kill the allergen-binding immune cells. However, since this is fantasy, we can say that it is possible to make the organs do that by renewing them while the allergen is present. As it happens, /meat/ chuubanite can cause cells to quickly undergo their life cycle and regenerate wounded tissues as a result. As such, a possible way for /meat/ to cure allergy (and potentially repair immune system) would be:
>Cause the thymus and bone marrow (collectively called primary lymphoid organs) to undergo regeneration, either through injection or tattoo.
>Introduce allergen in the patient's system during the process.
>If successful, the PLO regrow while thinking the allergens are a natural part of your body, thus killing any immune cells that are triggered by them.
Both due to how it works and for balancing reasons, it's probably a fairly lengthy process that requires careful control of the environment for the duration of the treatment - since it might make the system also not respond to legit harmful antigens if they contaminate the regrowing organs. That might also be why tattoo treatment would be preferable if you prefer that aesthetics - tattoo and glyphs allow for a longer and more controlled duration for the treatment, which is more critical compared with the (relatively) simple regeneration of skins and muscle tissues.

I want to try an experiment with volunteers who are too old to tolerate Vitubia's atmosphere using these tattoos. With proper engineering we could have the tattoos lessen the symptoms of allergies. I'm not sure if we can boost the immune system without cannibalism.

The other thing /nasa/ can do is create surgical implants instead of tattoos. Naturally we have surgical implants like dialysis, pace makers, and insulin for those that need it. That said rebuilding the technology for surgical implants will take some time as we need precision robotics to pull it off.

>I'm not sure if we can boost the immune system without cannibalism.
Theoretically, the glyphs should work as long as there is a regular injection of chuubanite into the system and thus the tattoo glyph. /meat/ uses cannibalism (naturally) to do that, but other means of injecting chuubanite into the system should work as well. I don't know if different chuubanites are similar enough for /nasa/ chuubanite to be used as a replacement, or if they need to inject /meat/ chuubanite specifically. Either way, it should be possible to make them into injections or medicines instead of the Other White Meat.
It's also possible that the glyphs don't need to be kept active once PLO regrows properly, so the patients don't have to take injections for the rest of their life (although if it regenerates thymus, it's probably also good at halting immune system degradation that happens at old age). Ultimately, it can go either way depending on which one works better for your needs.

True, although based on the mechanism, this treatment should also work for treating allergies, autoimmune diseases, and potentially health age extension as well, so it can still be a worthwhile investment in the long run (most probably beyond the scope of this project, but still). For now, though, tattoos will have to do. The initial experiments can be done either in /nasa/ or /meat/,
>/nasa/ most definitely has a better medical infrastructure and is more likely to be able to keep things truly sterile
>/meat/ has an abundance of /meat/ chuubanite for use, and existing tools might work better (at least for the administrators) for the proper procedure.
/meat/ would definitely be interested in seeing /nasa/ help improve their tools, though, alongside more general medical knowledge exchange. Precision tattooing tools will make the tattoos required smaller and/or regulate the process closer for better results, so it's beneficial for /nasa/ as well.

>> No.23386205

>>23385176
Well at least we have a plan. Just have to wait for the grand compromise now. I know the tattoos will be done in /nasa/ as we will not allow /meat/ to use our tools. Its also the same reason why /nasa/'s tools for shipbuilding will be restricted to stainless steel hand tools in our shipyard if other nations use it. Especially if we're going to need to rely on hoomans for labor. As for re-supplying chuubanite to the tattoos, it can be done with an implanted device like insulin dispensers. So we can supply chuubanite solution without needing to reapply the tattoos. As for the type of chuubanite I can't say what will happen. What I do know is /nasa/'s chuubanite has "space powers". As to the extent of what those space powers are I can't say. I'm debating between wormholes and gravity. Or both if I can make the science plausible. Either way chuubanite will have to be the solution to /nasa/'s transportation problems.

>> No.23386800

>>23386205
Fair enough, /meat/'s own tools should be good enough for the purpose, and a large tattoo might not necessarily be a drawback depending on the patients' taste. For resupplying chuubanite, dispensers should work, and for the type of chuubanite, I guess at least initially you'll want to use /meat/ chuubanite, and only start testing with other material once things have been proven to work.
>between wormholes and gravity
To be fair, you probably need manipulation of the latter to make the former, so it could definitely be both. Maybe the basic function is gravity, while wormholes require more precise manipulation of /nasa/ chuubanite to function?

so, /meat/ chuubanite can help /nasa/, but they aren't advanced enough to be able to administer it in a safe way, whereas /nasa/ would be technologically advanced enough to be able to do it if 1) they had it, which can be fixed simply enough by trading with /meat/, and 2) if they still have the tools necessary to do it. i figure at this point they probably do, but if we want to prevent it from being used on everyone from /nasa/ this could be the way to explain it in lore. also, i think it is worth mentioning that glyph's are not a /meat/ specific thing, but /meat/ is using it to make tattoos, which are also technically not a /meat/ specific thing, but seeing as how it involves scars and needles, is probably more common in /meat/. glyphs are capable of doing basic stuff like glowing, heating up, and moving in a direction the z axis from the perspective of the glyph, which, btw, i think should be dynamic if the glyph is on a curved surface and faction specific glyphs, with faction specific chuubanite, can make use of that faction specific chuubanite effect, but i don't think a faction specific glyph should be usable with any kind of vitubium. furthermore, the glyph shouldn't be capable of stopping a passive effect of the chuubanite, just controlling some aspect of it. in /meat/s case, it's the ability to force organic material to go through the life cycle at a heightened pace, so a glyph could strengthen the effect in one region at the cost of weakening, but not fully stopping it in any other region. on a related note, i also personally think tattoos should take vitubium out of the blood stream as a fuel source, and thus limit, but not remove the ability to make use of that vitubium since some of it will be stored in the tattoo, imagine it like your blood has another organ to send nutrients to, having another arm isn't going to prevent your blood from sending nutrients to your brain, but it will force you to eat more relatively to someone else to stay completely healthy.
>>23386800
according to general relativity, the sensation we know as gravity is merely the curvature of space-time. wormholes are theoretically possible, but even if you could control the curvature of space-time, it would take way too much energy to be reasonable, so merely curving space and time wouldn't be enough to make a wormhole.

personally, i think it might be a good idea to say that /nasa/ chuubanite can curve the very near-by fabric of space time. in star trek, they don't use rocket fuel at all. the ship itself is basically completely stationary the whole time, while space itself moves around the enterprise, causing it to appear as though it were in motion relative to everything else. i think it would be super cool if /nasa/ used that as a reference for how they are able to get into space.

Only downside about sleds and wagons is they have no armor. As they have to be as light as possible to carry cargo. Also if you shoot the engine it will explode. I'll say, if /nasa/ chuubanite had the unique property of allowing FTL travel, this would put other space-faring nations (/pagi/ and /moon/) in an awkward position. Something universally useful like FTL travel should probably be doable with any type of chuubanite provided the right processing, e.g. any chuubanite can power FTL if it's purified into 99.99999% pure vitubium and resonated into a ultraplasmic temporal field. Negative mass is a physical concept that receives serious consideration from physicists. Ultimately, its existence would break the First Law.
Consider a positive mass particle, and a negative mass particle next to each other. The (-) particle will be attracted to the (+) particle, while the (+) will be repulsed by the (-) particle. Thus, the (-) will accelerate towards the other, and the (+) will accelerate away from the other. Together, they form a source of infinite energy by accelerating one another infinitely with no input.

dilution of chuubanite in the ocean, no matter how fast it expires, would cause the whole ocean to be breathable. since vitubium binds with the chemicals themselves, it would be incorporated into the whole water cycle. if the chuubanite itself is what allows people to breath underwater, then the chuubanite, even if it starts out as a crystal, will spread out across the ocean. if the chuubanite breaks water particles up into h2 and o, either water would cease to exist, or the chuubanite wouldn't have an effect at all. this extraction process must not be a product of the chuubanite for it to avoid this problem. the ability to form and break chemical bonds so easily might cause a few questions either in terms of physics, or practicality, and even if they were all answered, this process only explains how they would be able to make the insides of their buildings breathable for non-atlanteans, not how to breathe underwater, nevermind why it does this as >>23389886 already points out the fact that atlanteans have gills and would therefore have no need to make their buildings breathable for non-atlanteans, so unless there is more to the chuubanite effect, or unless you want the chuubanite effect to be utterly useless outside of allowing tourism to take place in certain areas of atlantis, then a different effect might be preferable. sorry if i am coming across too harshly. i want to encourage people to think of ideas, but i also want to make sure they all make sense in the setting. i have no ill will towards you and i hope you think of ways to either get around these problems, or else think of different ideas that could also be useful for /ggg/

no it doesn't. light travels the same speed always, yet if you have a hallway of mirrors and two lasers, one pointed towards the mirrors at an angle and one pointed straight, and both of them are recieved at the end of the hallway, then one of them will reach it's destination faster than the other, likewise, light traveling through a lens, even just the lens of earth's atmosphere, goes a different speed than light in a vacuum. this isn't because the speed of light changes at all, it's because light travels a different path, either more or less efficient than another. light moving through a wormhole is not faster than light moving regularly, it just means it is moving more efficiently, which is not ftl.

i guess i posted before i got to this part. no engineer or physicist worth their degree would ever do this. i can understand using unique frames of refrence when trying to figure out the speed of something relative to something else, like using a car that passes another car by to determine how fast they passed each other by, but judging the speed of something by the reference point of something else is in error. worm holes are when you reduce the distance between two points, so the distance of something that goes through a worm hole is by definition less than the distance of something that gets to the same place without using a worm hole. imagine a circle with two paths, one going through the diameter, the other going along the perimeter. the distance between one side of the circle and the other could be defined as either of them depending on what question you are asking, but if we wanted to know the distance traveled by something that was going from one side to the other we would have to know which path it took. you can't say that because there is another path that is longer, that therefore the distance traveled was longer even if you took a shorter route. you are objectively wrong if you think engineers or physicists define ftl in that way.

Plenty of other literature using the term as I described it, check out Google Scholar
>judging the speed of something by the reference point of something else
Allow me to use an analogy. Consider an airplane. You can describe its velocity in multiple ways: its speed in its own reference frame (which should be 0), its air speed, its speed relative to the Earth, its speed relative to the sun, its speed relative to Voyager II. If you use its speed relative to the Earth, arguably the most useful one for navigation, you are judging its speed using the reference point of something else.
Then consider a space ship traveling through a wormhole. For the purposes of navigating a galaxy, it would be most logical to use the reference frame of the undisturbed space of the galaxy, rather than the reference frame of the ship. From the galaxy's point of view, once the transit through the wormhole is complete, the ship has traversed the distance at an average speed higher the the speed of light.
Anyway, this was fun! I'm headed to bed. Don't let the thread die yall.

this is where our disagreement stems from. you are using these terms for practicality while i am using them in search for the most technically precise interpretation of truth. take the circle analogy i made, the perimeter is the undisturbed/unperturbed space, while the diameter is the path through the wormhole, it is technically the truth that the distance from one side of a circle to the other is it's diameter, but you don't actually want to know the distance, you just want to know which one will get you to the destination quicker. if you want to be technically correct when you say stuff like that, you have to do what the physicist did by clarifying from what frame of reference you are measuring everything from. therefore, ftl as it's own thing is impossible, but you can reach a destination sooner than light if light takes a less efficient path, which might appear ftl from certain frames of reference. btw, it might be annoying for onlookers, and maybe you didn't enjoy it either, but this kind of pedantic overanalyzing of trivia is really entertaining for me, so if it was fun for you, i am quite happy about that. good night, and thank you for humoring my autism.

I did some surveying in /nasa/ during spare time for figuring out names for the capitol and land. Lamington station seems to be the popular name for the Capitol as the station itself is a Lamington class starship. No dice on the land. Though we do have an idea to name the land after Sana herself. I have a plan for /nasa/ to tame a mammoth. However that plan is going to take a few years of observation for both the mammoths and us. Our space suits give us a different silhouette than schizos. So perhaps the mammoths would see us as different creatures to the trolls. Mammoths should be as smart as elephants. So perhaps they can get comfortable around Sanalite observers.
