I think she just may have ADHD comboed with Aspergers. Her weird noises, lack of social confidence and at the same time wanting to dominate the conversation are really major giveaways. It's something much more common and simple and almost all entertainers and content creators fall victim to it - she became a professional. Early Gura was very much herself and was an amateur, and so was the overall feeling of early HoloEN and NijiEN. These girls got into something new in the West and approached it with worry, fear, but also innocent interest and can do attitude that is typical of beginners in anything when they're interested. You yourself and me experienced this at a new job, the start of a new hobby or whatever other new thing you tried out. But gradually you become good at it and you lose that initial edge and rely on autopilot since you learned enough for it to exist. It becomes a reflex to do the "thing" no matter what it is.

Gura won over her audience because she was just herself. And her person was amazing. As time went on she found herself winning in all aspects as a chuuba, and at a certain point it dawned on her that she is now a professional. And that makes all the difference. The approach to streaming has changed completely, and as a consequence so did the special relationship between herself and her audience. The emotional resonance is almost completely gone. She has become television - there is no meaningful interaction occurring between herself and chat and no matter what you say it'll just get drowned in a sea of meaningless chat shitposts and emojis. She is a victim of her own success, and this puts a gulf between her and us. Finally the inevitable happens, and it's happening to me.
