But the Korean management didn't have any oversight and it was a complete clusterfuck of nepotism and actual, physical bullying, prime perpetrator being "Ara Chae" with the help of the local mgmt.

Vspo girls are pretty popular in Japan. They might not be that popular overseas, so it's probably not that noticeable for overseas vtuber fans. Most of them usually have several thousand concurrent viewers on their streams.
In Niji, there's a huge difference between popular members and the average/unpopular ones. The popular ones have a big audience, but the average ones don't and they obviously won't get much exposure.
There are far fewer members in Vspo, so it's more similar to hololive in the aspect that there are Vspo fans who like the group as a whole, which means there are more opportunities for all members to get viewers and fans. If you're in Niji and you're not popular, you're just screwed and you'll have a hard time trying to get out of the shit hole.
