Sure, I tried that. But a big part of watching a streamer is to follow their development. And every time I come back I know Selen less, she's experienced more on-stream I don't know about, she has more in-jokes with people who I don't know or who even rub me the wrong way, her interaction with her core audience has evolved again. Every week, I'm just more of an outsider, looking in.
I like Selen. And I don't hate any of these guys. I'm sure they're doing their best to entertain. They might even be helping Selen's numbers. But it's not what I come here for. If I eat steak with candy in it everyday, I might grow to like it. But, welll...I could always just go to another steak restaurant.
So yeah, now and then when she does a long solo gaming stream, I don't mind popping back in. But I'm just standing in the doorway, you know? There's no attachment to her. And if another stream comes on without any of this baggage, well, I'm just going to put that on instead. Maybe leave her muted with a browser extension for the view, for old times' sake.

In a collab you play off chat less and differently, and you can't focus as much on the game as you do your collab partner, which also leads to picking more shallow games. Indeed, the whole point is for a major part of that stream's content to be your interactions with the collab partner. And that's difficult to engage with if you don't care for any aspect of the partner, whether it's the model, voice or personality.
And like I said, I still watch her single-player streams if it's a game that interests me or if there's nothing else on. But there's a distance now that wasn't there pre-luxiem. It feels like the niji males just added on extra collab streams instead of replacing part of the already sizable number per week.
