My sister suffered a bad back injury in her late teens, and it took a few surgeries and several years before she could even lie down comfortably in any position. She would have to prop herself up in her bed against a wall with a half-dozen pillows to fall asleep, and if she rolled into the wrong position she would wake up from the pain.

I don't know what Sana is dealing with, but having seen real back injuries before, I'm willing to believe anything.

And that's what hurts me the most. I had a little spark of hope that she could come back one day but it was all crushed after what she said this stream. And I don't think we'll ever see her roommate again, at least not this year. The most we can know about her is news from the mouths of the other holomems, and even then they I don't think they will talk much about her or even mention her name directly. This is pain.

Sana was speaking in a farewell tone and giving no hope that she would ever return. I didn't really understand what she said word by word, but from what I understood, she said that she wouldn't be Sana anymore and would be someone else when after she graduates. She also said that she tried her best to stay but she couldn't because the situation was out of her control she made that decision because she couldn't go on. She cried and thanked the Sanalites for all these months she was here and told us to support Hololive's other talents.

Yeah, her time on the scene was fun. That's it. No big yabs or drama.

It's (fortunately) unprecedented as of this moment, but I would say any former talent dying would probably get acknowledged in an official statement, and maybe a small video tribute would be put on the main channel. To the point that even the CN girls would probably get at least a tweet about it.

They probably have a no-compete agreement where the person can't play a vtuber persona for 6-12 months after graduating. Luna debuted in Hololive almost exactly 6 months after graduating from Nijisanji, and Lulu only debuted her new Unou persona 12 month after graduating from Nijisanji, for example. Mikeneko/Nazuna is an exception because she was outright fired and probably already paid the fees for damages to the company.

So if Sana's joining NijiEN at all it'll only be from a brand new audition in the future, and if the previous audition has two waves like the usual, she'll be in wave 8/9 in 2023.
