Why did they flop?

The real answer, which is something Nijifags utterly deny every time I say it, is oversaturation. Almost as if they're just perfectly fine with discarding new people in favor of something else because their attention span is that of a gnat. I honestly prefer sticking to just a select few VTubers, how do people just hop from one person to another?

Niji shits out a new wave every other month without gaining that many new viewers and the fans with oshis only care about the debuts.

this
how many EN gens do they have already? like 5 or 6? how long will they keep adding more?

Before debut I would have seconded this argument, but having seen some of their streams I think the real problem is that they actually suck.

There are a lot of reasons.

1. Too many waves too quickly.
2. The stuff that gets you likes on twitter and makes the Alphabet Society clap and go YAS QUEEN has been shown, time and time again, to not translate to stream viewers (see: Finana)
3. Very little in the form of actual entertainment value. Ren is popping off relative to his wave for a reason, he's literally the only one worth a damn.

And more.

Because they shat out almost as many ENs in a year as there are HoloJPs.
People are becoming apathetic towards new Niji waves because their quality also keeps dropping.
This new wave is a fucking farce.

>> No.30290380

Because it's Niji. They just spray and pray people with "talents".

Maybe because there's already a bunch of vtubers to watch, so while everyone is gonna fly to watch the new guys, if they aren't interested, they will go back to their usual faves.
And if this group was successful and had a ton of views, then the previous groups would start a decline on views. There are no infinite views, there's a finite number of people, and a smaller % of people who watch vtubers live, and while the number might increase each year, it's not such a sufficient growth to warrant this many entretainers being pumped out every few months.
People are competing for views, all the time, not just between companies, but between coworkers of the same one too. Even if they somehow aligned everyone's schedule to never overlap, people would still reorganize their time to watch their fave and then spend the rest of the day living their life.

Even as a Nijifag I can admit after a while it gets too excessive. And not just for EN, but before EN too. After the 2019 debuts I just felt like I couldn't keep up anymore, and I just stopped caring about everything new because I knew that they'd all be forgotten after a while. At least Edengumi seems to have some loyalty to it at least.
