>look at the chat for a stream
>someone actually says "hey sorry i'm late"
Do these people in the chat seriously have the delusion that the vtuber is going to respond to them personally? Like they're gonna drop everything because "Oh shit, GenericNameMcWeedlord just apologized for being late, I better respond to him." Like maybe if it's a stream with sub-100 viewers where they may as well respond because they need all the viewer interaction they can get, but this wasn't one such stream.

It's always possible the streamer will look at the chat and reply but it's ridiculous to waste your chance to talk to them on "sorry I'm late" when you could be asking "What are your thoughts on the implications of the falling price of gold on the global economy?"

>> No.3067563

If it is a few hundred viewers or less (YMMV), they could just be chatting in general and using that to introduce that they're there, no different from "hello." Otherwise yes they could just be wanting to get a word in in the hopes of being noticed.
Since most chats are genuinely just fluff discussion or hype spam, I don't see why it would even be vexing. Or at least how it would be more vexing than people doing it ironically on 4chan.

Nah, has to be more specific to what's happening on stream and 10 seconds is a bit too frequent. You don't want to end up spamming yourself, you want other chatters to either say it as well or adopt that topic. The simpler it is, the easier it is to understand for ESL and higher chance people who are reluctant to chat will repeat it if it doesn't require a ton of typing. But yeah stuff like "nice shot" or "Don't forget tail" (for the monhun streams), really depends on what's happening though.

The thing is, their "job" is just playing video games for fun and there's no time limit on how fast they have to beat the game. Pekora did what, 12 hours for a single level of Ghosts 'n Goblins? Well, maybe Pekora isn't the best example, because she does not seem to have much of a life. So of course she would be a-ok with spending all those hours on video games. It's something to do. But it varies from person to person. I think, all in all, it's a cushy gig. You can play all day for one day, then take a few days off and Cover isn't bothered by it at all.
