2017 British Shondobro here. She dropped out at 12, it's true. She's been saying that since then, when she was 15.In either 2018 or 2019 I can't remember, when she should've been graduating school, some social worker gave her the opportunity to go to make up classes for English and Maths for a year to get her qualifications in those subjects. Basically here in the UK if you have basic English and Maths you can still get a job even if you have nothing else, but I'm talking entry level, McDonalds shit.
She went for a month or two and would talk in the discord whilst she was on break, then suddenly stopped mentioning it one day and started putting out more video content. Then she said she was looking for a job and nowhere would hire her which is when the infamous Evil Hotel saga went down.
Shondo's a lot of things but not a liar, she's consistent about this. I don't know why she stopped going to the makeup classes, maybe she couldn't handle it or struggled or something. I imagine trying to do GCSE level classes when you have a 12 year old's education can't be easy, or the stress of being in a public place got to her schizobrain.
Either before or after this she also tried to do the same thing online. She paid for an online course to get those qualifications and stopped doing that too. For some reason she either just can't stick with it for long enough to get the qualifications or she wasn't capable of passing it.
I imagine now that her YouTube/VTubing took off she likely doesn't need to get basic qualifications for minimum wage work.
