i have rarely found the girls funny of their own accord. ame is kind of funny, and i think fauna is clever, but that's about it.
but they're funny because of their antics and being pon.
the reason girls tend to be less funny than guys is because they spend a lot more time thinking about what other people think about them, and then they're also way more bound by having to act "nice." especially to other girls. this makes them a lot less experimental, less willing to mess around and try boundaries.
guys on the other hand... you basically HAVE to be funny to be popular as a guy. the only other ways to be popular are to be great at sports, a 9 or a 10 in looks, or some kind of devil-may-care asshole. there is a much stricter meritocracy, and funny is the easiest way to climb it.
for girls you can be a 5/10 and still be a queen bee, and they don't like risking that.
