The general rule of thumb is Twitch if your content is primarily based on livestreaming and YouTube if your content is primarily pre-recorded and edited.

>Do you think there's an audience for X, Y, Z content?
First, ask yourself if you would watch a streamer of your skill and experience. Second, do a check on social media and look to see if other streamers are already creating similar content. Don't limit yourself to vtubers, include traditional real life streamers to scope out a potential audience.

I want to try Vtubing (male here) but I think my strength lies in ASMR, improv and writing. I've had many compliments by people on my voice, it's deep but not booming, more like a smooth husky tone. I'm good at improvisation thanks to drama lessons as a kid which makes me a naturally good speaker.

Tell me if I'm being too autistic. Here's my plan:

>Build up a reasonable audience over a few months up to a year
> Use the money from the ASMR channel to fund Vtubing art, rigging and equipment

>Expand from that point into variety content

Maybe instead of posting the variety content on your ASMR channel, set up a second channel centred around variety and make one (1) video redirecting your audience to it if they want to watch.

This last part is optional, but uploading on both channels is a good way to satisfy both audiences, albeit more time-consuming.

I do something similar, what you should do is deticated YouTube to your ASMR and some extras on the side, but also stream ASMR to twitch. Upload YouTube asmr after your ASMR streams and the turnover will be pretty good. I also stream different games outside the specific days I do ASMR and so far it's working well.

Ah I was thinking two YT channels. I forgot about streaming to Twitch at the same time lol.
You could still do it, though. Sticking to a schedule where ASMR gets 2 streams a week while variety only gets 1.
Then you upload an edited ASMR video to YT while the full VOD is an unlisted video in the description.
And on the variety YT channel, just export the raw VOD, since the main focus would be on the ASMR content.

I want to stream, I have everything set up except a proper model, and I know I can just use a temporary png or buy a premade.
I have a good mic, a good pre-amp, and I have a good personality and genuinely just want to make people happy, in a way I could never make myself.
The only problem is my voice, so I'm not really sure if I feel ready for it, even though I really want it.

I have a business idea involving starting a small agency. I'm not sure of the full extent of what that entails though and I was wondering what true road blocks exist for independent chuubas, or if this would even be able to get off the ground. So I thought I'd try an informal survey.

If a no-name agency/studio offered try-outs or whatever the fuck theyre called, what would the offer need to look like for you to consider applying? This would be a self funded venture so I'd really like to avoid the high burn rate from salaries of support staff, but fixed cost expenses like software, gear, contracted art, etc. is no problem. Ideally, down the road each vtuber would have a manager, editor, etc. which the agency would also pay for.

For the terms of the deal: the agency owns the character IP (non-negotiable), but you have heavy creative input into the design at the outset and since you will end up defining the character, you can develop the character as you see fit while you grow. You are in charge of the channel with some minor streaming time requirements, and you keep its profits. There would also be some additional work, something like an occasional press junket or voice acting job, for the agency (the profits of which you won't see). In essence, the agency funds your chuubing and in exchange you help make some content for the agency to sell.

The real value, im sure, in joining an agency is the clout and reach of an existing audience. But that is something I obviously wouldn't be able to offer. I have no idea how I would even go about recruiting talent, but if the value proposition doesn't make sense from the chuuba's end then I'll need to rethink some things.

tldr: would you join an agency if they bought you whatever you needed? what terms would be deal-breakers or non-negotiable for you?

1% conversion from twitter to Twitch is... an example of an optimistic... outlook... not really sure why you think 5% of people would switch platforms entirely (seriously, the YT audience is NOT the Twitch audience, the conversion is probably practically zero).
You should treat them like different audiences if you are going to diversify the places you post in because they are. Your instagram / Youtube / Twitch audience don't overlap, and even when they do, the likelihood of one person following you on all three seeing an impression of you on all three is lower than them seeing an impression of you on only 1

This wording sounds very scam-like, because most indies who want to go corpo do so for the stability at the expected cost of having very little wiggle room for negotiating deal-breakers, ESPECIALLY if they’re dime-a-dozen streamers who don’t stand out THAT much from whatever competition they may have had to join the company.

I'd probably not mind most of these but my characters are too important to me that i could let anyone else have it. I'm unique in that regard though, and considering I can do everything else that you offer but I'm not the target audience. I think the biggest problem is that without reach / marketing both the agency and the chuubas will fail. You have outlined terms of service but there's no actual plan for growth / success. If you just want to burn money for fun, that's okay but no matter how many benefits an agency could bring it most likely won't substitute for the kind of reach the big corpos have. You will have a bunch of well managed 2views.

This might be appealing still to other people, I'm sure you'd get applications, what's your endgoal here?

So your only measure is how much it cost? My model cost a 100 bux and I'd say it's one of the better 3D models that I've seen. What kind of model do you want? 2D, 3D, male, female and what style? These things matter when looking for an artist. Not to mention the fact the model contributes less to growth than you might think.

Really great points though, reach is the most valuable thing, but that's what makes it the hardest to get I suppose! I'm fine burning some money even if it fails, seems to me like the idea is worth trying.

End goal is basically a symbiosis between the agency and the streamer. Where the streamer would drive an audience to the products of the agency and vice versa. I see an opportunity to vertically integrate product production with advertising, but imo it'll only be interesting for the first few movers and if some corpo like hololive does it first I'll die a little inside lol, they don't need more money. I suppose their anime thing that they are making is an example of this. Hololive makes the anime, the vtubers star in it, and it's mutually beneficial to both.
