I can't understand people who insist Hololive and Holostars collabs should be the norm
Why won't they look at the bigger picture?
The girls' and boys' group separation are their identity, one of their selling points and it is a business model that has been working well for Hololive and make them rise to become one of the top groups
To change their business model would have been wasting their years of hard work
It is one thing to change their business model if their current business model doesn't work, but it is still working well for them

They might have a couple people in Holo that they like to watch sometimes but they don't particularly care about them as a group or care about what makes Holo unique since they were never actually invested in their idol journey.

Even some CGDCT anime, like Asobi Asobase, incorporated all-boys schools into their story without being intrusive. The interaction with the all-boys school in the manga and anime allowed for some fun interactions, but ultimately, it's still CGDCT. Same with Daily Lives of High School Boys in reverse. The interaction with the all-girls school made for memorable funny moments, but it was ultimately about the boys.

I see Hololive as the same. You don't need to force the co-ed model. Each "character" in their single-gender school just needs to be respected to direct their own brand, but ultimately, they go back to their all-girls and all-boys places, and that's fine. It just makes any interaction more special. Just don't force it or ban it, and let the girls/boys direct themselves.

Nijisanji never (or failed to) appeal to the CGDCT or CBDCT (or whatever the reverse for the boys) market. Following the analogy of schools, it's like a story in a co-ed school to begin with. That appeals to other people, and it's not like the market for this genre is smaller. Since both market sizes are not really small, the most significant reason for why the other anime is doing worse than the other in a different genre is that it has a worse story (e.g. disjointed lore) or characters (e.g. unlikable people) or just worse in some other way. Nijisanji may be like that against Hololive.
