Best KING cover

This isn't the best one. But what is? /vt/ tell me, what is the king KING cover?

Suisei's singing is amazing but her adherence to the original song is lacking slightly; the need to pitch down is noticeable. The mixing is also not that great unfortunately.

Miyu Ottavia has done one that is extremely good. It's pitched down, but the quality is good and she has REALLY good vocal ad libs. Her voice control and overall performance is one of the best, but her "Left side, right side" section is slightly weak. She also says the word "King" in a slightly too snappy manner. Otherwise this cover is close to perfect.

Reine's remix-cover is REALLY good but that doesn't count since it *is* a remix more than a cover. But her voice fits the song perfectly.

Otherwise, Kizuna AI and Ayunda Risu are up there as potential best imo. Kizuna's vocal mixing is fantastic (adding the subtle autotune that you can hear nicely on the words "onegai hitotsu" is beautiful).

I'm waiting for the magnum opus of covers.

It all depends on what you like.

Ayame's for the cute, Noel's for the SOUL, Mana's for the METAL etc.

There is no "best" KING cover, since it'll always be a subjective measure.

Risu's is the undisputed best of the traditional King covers. Reine's is second on my ranking because she took a chance, messed with the arrangement and made a different video which turned out to be awesome.

There are some objective measurements I've been trying to compare them by. The biggest being:
>How faithful it is to the original song's themes and vocals (as deviating would be better thought of closer to the remix side of things)
>Mixing quality (easily the most objective one here)
>Ability to sing and if they consistently avoid ever sounding out of their comfort range. Gumi is a good vocaloid and sounds very even in the vocal range she's used at, so it's very noticeable if a human falters during certain sequences.
>Creativity can also do wonders. Vocal adlibs like Suisei's finale, or Robocco's growing harmonies during instrumental portions can add so much.

All in all, there's a potential "best" among these measurements

Risu is phenomenal. She has a snarkier, almost growl-y voice. While not inherently bad whatsoever, it gives off a bit different energy from the smoother voice the original aimed for.

Easily contender for the crown. If nothing dethrones it soon I think it will be the winner for most people. Only insanely over analytical people like me would bother to look for anything further.

No KING cover is truly the king unless it includes grunge vocals, the chorus is absolutely begging for it. What people like so much about Risu's cover is merely a hint of what the song really needs. I haven't done my reps enough to know if anyone has really pulled this off, but whoever does (successfully) has the best cover.

I don't get why you guys love this one. The direction to take the chorus in a shrill direction sounds horrible and straight up hurts my ears especially when I'm using good headphones. Sounds worse the than original there and gumi isn't even tuned well in that song. She does verses very though. Wish the chorus wasn't botched.
