Asacoco 1.0 was peak Coco content, no questions asked. Not only it helped to solidify Hololive's popularity among EOPs, but also was crucial to create consistency between gen 4 members who were pretty damn lost early on. She even tried to include Towa in the Asacoco circle in a time where no one except a few outsiders were willing to collab with her. Coco had a strong presence even among her senpais, and everyone respected her for that.

I pity anyone who wasn't around for Asacoco 1.0. The special edition Asacoco during her anniversary stream was reminiscent of those days. She was killing herself making them though. It was a 6AM daily show that took her 6-8 hours per day to prepare on top of her regular streams. In terms of actual content, not really. She's at her best when she's just shooting the shit with her chat or another holo. When she's able to relax and just be herself you see why she's so popular. When it comes to more structured and focus stuff she tends to come across as just fake and try hardy.

Redditors basically give her all the credit for Hololive's expansion into the west and the instant success of HoloEN because early Meme-review was one of the only official Holo-streams that could easily be enjoyed by EOPs without translation. Also Coco in general knew how to cater to American audience since she's American herself and speaks fluent English.

I think it's fair to give her the credit, but I don't think the long term consequences of this are all good. Hololive's viewership and international recognition has increased tremendously but this English exposure also leads to Holos being reduced to caricatures of themselves in the eyes of EOPs, largely thanks to meme-review.

Even if HoloEN was always going to be created, the reason they each got at least 50k viewers on their debut streams is almost certainly related to Coco generating interest from English speakers for the last several months. The majority of the hype was probably due to the translated clips but I'm not going to deny Coco had any impact.

Before HoloEN Cover put almost zero effort into making content for english speakers. It was basically Hologra and that's it.

Asacoco 1.0 was some of the best content ever to come out of Hololive. Sadly management neutered it, and then even neutered version became too much of a strain to keep going. Afaik, aqua had like 15-30% chinese viewership, so she was one of the holo's that suffered the most from the china thing, aside from fbk who had like almost 50% at times, but she made her position clearly known that she's not blaming coco for anything by staying friendly with her. The problem with Coco is that her fanbase got mindbroken by Chinese trolls. She was never popular here, for her overtly crass behaviour, terrible singing, and endless Reddit pandering. She wouldn't be out of place in V-Shojo, in my opinion, and I was never a fan of hers.
But then she got attacked back in October, and the narrative flipped completely. Naturally, people wanted to defend her from quite frankly terrible bullying, so everyone started supporting practically all her endeavours. Eventually, though, tatsunoko became so obsessed with protecting their oshi that we got to the point where you literally can't say anything negative about her, or you will be swarmed by them and eaten alive. Her entire fanbase became a huge hugbox for her. So she doesn't even try new things anymore, she just streams games and discusses Reddit memes with other Holos (who don't seem to give much of a shit about those, but they roll with it anyway because it makes Coco happy).
Coco always worked twice as hard as others because she knew she doesn't have the same level of appeal as others. Her voice is terrible, she can't sing, she's not good at video games, she can't draw, she's not a very interesting person. But she was a hard worker with a lot of unique ideas, and that made her as popular as she is. Remember how many projects she was always launching, from ARK to Asacoco to English lessons, etc.? However, thanks to her asshurt fanbase, she doesn't have to try nowadays, they will do their best to defend her regardless. So she doesn't try.
