I've made it a rule to only donate through anonymous means if at all possible. I give money because I support what my oshi represents not because I want her attention. It's not entirely possible because membership renewal but lately people give me a gifted one whenever it expires so I've managed to fade into the background in that regard as well.

Phase Connect vs Hololive English the differences are very simple.
For starters, there are no males. They don't normally interact with males, if they do it's within some restricted circumstances like Pippa interviewing males or Tenma doing Tenma things.
Second, they actually stream for decent times and consistently. Sure Pippa went on a hiatus but she was without a PC so it's not the same as the constant Hololive English breaks.
If you want to delve deeper, Phase Connect actually enjoy* streaming, they are grateful for it and cherish it.
They also have a closer connection with the fans, they don't yet resent their fans, they reply to them more, and have more usable chats. They also play whatever the fuck they want without the permissions hell HoloSanji have to deal with. These are all universal advantages small corpos and indies have over 6k view streams and big corpo.
This one is more vague, but Phase Connect members are more parasocial. They trauma dump more, cry on stream more, open themselves more. If you want a more human experience you get it here.
There's also arguably the freedom afforded to be weird, do experimental content or say stuff that some might find objectionable.
Holosanji might do yabs but they are immediately reprimanded for them and corrected, Phase Connect members can shape their content and identity around themes that many people will dislike but they are ok with it, they don't have to appeal to the lowest common denominators.
And finally the menhera bit, Phase Connect offers....weirder, more interesting people than Holosanji. Either by coincidence or by choice, fishman managed to get very weird girls in the company.

The big problem with drama coverage is that you eventually become part of the content. Even if you are very neutral about it and give people the benefit of the doubt and all that, people are still going to consider it an attack just because you talk about it. Also, on the off-chance that you can actually deal with it, people are eventually going to attack your friends and associates. Drama coverage is generally not worth it, regardless if you know how to deal with it or not.
