Voice, now this a touchy topic.
Basically yes. most high pitched voice chuubas are acting. The ones that do this, want to act as certain anime stereotype with a few of their personal touches to craft a cool OC. This is like more than half of the fun in being a vtuber instead of a regular streamer. Please also note that most girls also have a rather high pitched
natural voice, so most girls doing deep voice are probably acting too (easiest example of this would be Erina Makina from Phase Connect).
What's amusing are the reactions you get when you call out vtubers on it. You get the obvious denial: "this is my actual voice, what do you mean???", the bargaining VA types go for: "Actually this is one of my voices, and all of them are real".
In my opinion, (You) as a viewer should care about none of these things and just laugh at vtubers when they fuck up their acting. Caring about if a vtuber's voice is genuine or not is insensitive and autistic, vtubers are acting to provide entertainment and you are criticizing the whole foundation of it. You can criticize voices for being awful on their own though. Because holy shit, Kiara's voice is like nails on a chalkboard.

While I deeper sounding voices myself, insisting all vtubers should use their "real voice" and insisting all vtubers should have higher pitched voices are both obnoxious as fuck, especially if you comment about it right in front of a vtuber's face. "Voice reveal" is zoomer shit and the people who imply all anime is moeshit and that all possible anime archetypes are moe stereotypes are fucking retarded. There is no reason to constrict a medium that is DESIGNED to be flexible and has room for deviation and experimentation. As always this argument is deeply retarded and full of idiots so ill once more explain how this works. Human voices aren't just one specific pitch/tone and thats it. Peoples voices naturally sit somewhere within a gradient. Basically everyone has a certain range to their natural voice that their voice sits within. When doing your own thing or just by yourself/at home people naturally talk much more monotone and flat/dull. This is a problem a ton of streamers have to deal with starting out and even big fucking streamers have gone into detail on how they had to get used to dealing with that.

Vtubers (for the vast majority anyways there are outliers obviously) "fake" their voices in the same sense that all streamers do. They talk slightly more energetic than they would usually. Everybody changes their voice slightly depending on the situation. The truth of the matter is voices aren't so one note and binary as to be simply "deep" or "high pitched". Its much more complex than that. The voice you hear from most vtubers are in general their actual voices. Just more fun or energetic like all streamers do.
