The only option there is to have patience and power through. I've only had it up to around 300 reviews, and it's taken me two or three days to get back to speed, but eventually it does decrease. You start to recognize the kanji, you get faster at it, a little bit every day. It does get frustrating but the best thing you can do is take your time with it.
