I'm not claiming to be any sort of expert or even so deep as to be ANY kind of authority or wealth of knowledge regarding anime. I simply watch what I enjoy, and that tends to be moe stuff and some serious anime - but I never got into the "manime" mindset or thing because to me that's just animated movies which I could watch either way, but which don't interest me at all. I am a man, and I want to watch cute girls do cute things, and when that's coupled with good story and characters I'm happy. Girls und Panzer for instance is an utterly absurd, silly concept and it's amazing because of it. And movies can't do that. My theory is millenials appreciate older media more because we grew up in the transition from the analog to digital age. And even when the digital age started it was still very primitive. Anime also wasn’t as mainstream back then, so if we wanted to watch anything other than what aired on Toonami we had to hunt for it. Zoomers are a lot more spoonfed now
