It's obvious Mori didn't prepare for the stream (to no one's surprise at this point).

If she had watched some Coco Reddit reviews before (I can get that it's shit, but if I'm the next guest, I would do it at least for research purposes, but yeah Mori doesn't really watch much other Holo-streams anyway), she would have known what to expect and come up with a better gameplan than whatever she ended up with to present (which was apparently "being a total wet blanket / stick in the mud" like the autismo she is), and while I wouldn't say that I'm "glad" that her "haha let's just wing it"-attitude made her look like a fool (again), I hope that at least she's going to learn from it for the future.

The "trick" to being a good guest on the redditstream with Coco would be to basically ignore the memes entirely, everybody knows they're shit (especially when you're a non-jap guest who doesn't even have the novelty value of seeing shitty kaigainikki memes for the first time), and just use them basically as conversation starters to steer the interaction into topics that YOU want to talk about. Coco was offering so many times lines that would be great opportunities for retorts, but Mori couldn't give anything back beyond her typical stammering of "umm, yeah...", "I see...." , "naroo hodo nay...", and "Now listen... listen pleeease..."(and then never saying anything further after that). Oh and inb4 "s-she was just nervous", we've seen this exact behavior many times before already with her own EN genmates, aka people she should be comfortable with, so that's just a permanent part of her personality. I get that she's never gonna be a great talkmaster or even just socially adaptable, but that was one of her worse showings, beyond the simple occasion that it was finally the first Coco-EN collab, the stream itself was one to forget, and she came off (again) just as a passive passenger who couldn't be arsed to put the effort in to add anything herself to the collab (hell, Coco's streams with herself were more entertaining than this, even a fucking Yagoo soundboard had more of a presence than Mori). I hope the other ENs will watch this if just for the lesson that when the next review collab comes around, they'll know what NOT to do/ how not to behave, and offer a more entertaining showing.

I think Ame would do very well in a collab with Coco, she could definitely banter back. Personally, I haven't laughed that hard in ages, so I'm not the one arguing the collab was a 'failure' like others in the thread, just that most of the memes were shit.
But regarding the brief discussion they had with the Anime version of Coco having Boobs was one of the times she did steer conversation a bit, but was quickly brushed past to get to the punchline.

Again, I'm not faulting Coco, since I was legitimately laughing through the entire thing. Both girls are complete polar opposites, and that in itself is funny to me, so I had a great time watching it.
Could things be improved moving forward with a game collab and more stimuli on screen to talk about, and possibly more time/opportunities to discuss mutual interests going forward? Absolutely.

Since the review with Okayu i stopped watching the meme review, it was too boring, so i was curious about this collab with Mori, and at first it was uncomfortable Coco remarking bad Mori's nihongo and the usual unfunny reddit memes, but as time went by, i couldn't stop smiling and bursting my ass, it was basically Coco pushing the memes down Mori's throat against her will, and it was glorious.

I think what we're seeing here is an extreme clash of personalities that both groups arent used to. Coco is a very loud and out going streamer and pretty much goes a mile a minute. Calli is supposed to be this super awkward shy doofus who is much slower than others. Now that isnt to say that this collab was doomed from the start, but its VERY obvious Calli showed how the sausage was made a bit by basically getting mogged in both her understanding of JP bros culture and that her type of personality isnt 100% a character she plays, she is just a legit awkward doof which to some may be great...in her solo streams. When paired up with someone like Coco, especially in the memereviews you need to be able to at least keep up with Cocos shenanigans. Calli just came off as a wet blanket who was anything but receptive. People shit on Ame all day because of the same thing, but at least Ame TRIES, she fails but she tries. Calli at this point feels like now that her character is basically "lol Im just awkward and a wet blanket" that its ok to not try. Of course some will try to cry about that I need to watch her solo streams (I was subbed to her until just last month) but I think its pretty easy to see that what you see is what you get. And hey in a bubble she can work really well by herself, but in collabs? Shes always been this shit. And yes that includes the Korone collab, nut up you know its true.

This comment assumes that Coco used any of the memes as conversation starters when she clearly didn't. The one thing she asked was about the dad meme in the very beginning, and Mori did tell her how it came to be.
It should've went like this. Coco takes pic related, shows it on the screen, and they both have a chuckle. No need to explain what's going on as if everyone's blind. Then Coco asks Calli something like "So anyway, what happened with that Doom Eternal stream?", and gives Calli a few minutes to tell how she forgot about Doom Eternal, which is a fun story. Then Coco could share some of the times she dropped the game mid playthrough, and why it happened. And everyone has a good laugh. Then they move on to the next meme.
Nothing Coco showed in the review could've been used like that, nor did she try to strike a conversation, she just took jabs at Calli (half of it in Japanese for some reason) and expected her to come up with fun reactions.

It's not as simple as just "become charismatic". She's sort of got a character type to stick with, being a reaper rapper and all. Some level of being a serious person is expected. Something she could work with are basic conversation skills. She has to maintain a conversation when necessary. Have some stories to tell. watch it, it was pretty fun actually. but they did penalty games. NTA, but my honest advice would be that they should have done some sort of bts test run to prepare beforehand. Coco could've guided her "ok, this is how meme review works (because you clearly can't rely on Mori having watched these streams, or knowing much about Hololive at all), yes I know the memes are shitty but don't worry we'll make fun of them TOGETHER, i'll offer you some banter opportunities and you just have to follow my lead and RESPOND" etc.

I know that's too little too late after it already happened, so I'll just hope they (well, mainly Mori) can at least learn from it in a constructive manner for the future. Also for the next first collab Mori has with a JP senpai, maybe some other "icebreaker" activity beforehand would be recommended, just to get at least some of that initial arkwardness out of the way (I'll say this compliment for Mori, she CAN become better at collabs when they go on longer and she gets more comfortable with the other person) instead of having that scuff play out right before our eyes. Maybe do a just-talking stream first (and not the meme review with its more rigid structure), or play some kind of game that relies on communication (so Mori can't hide in her mute shell) but doesn't require so much skill and focussing that it monopolizes too much of her meager mental bandwith and she has none left over to engage in real conversation.

And if Mori is never gonna be naturally good at improvising conversation, she could at least do what several of the JP social autists do when thrown into a collab - prepare some conversation topics before hand, make a "talk deck" or whatever. But that would take effort, instead she STILL has that lazy "just wing it, who cares" attitude, and I hope it's not because she thinks it's actually good what she ends up delivering, because then she'd be even more deluded herself than her fans who think being a black hole of negative fun is "kino" instead of actually just being cringe.

So with Mori its a problem of character evolution being stunted by her real self. This was by far the most entertaining Meme review since the program began, and hearing about how it got set up thanks to the membership stream paints a much clearer picture on WHY things were the way they are.

The difference was Coco was actually nervous but pushed through to make the collab great , and Cali is inexperienced and to be honest has never really thought about the streaming side of this gig so she completely shut down. I think a bit of preparation could have gone a long way. Coco wanted to run her show a certain way, and she had to kind of drop reminders throughout to try to keep it on the rails she wanted. For example, at a certain point she pretty much outright tells Calli to start laughing at the memes, since she wasn't and instead tried to compliment some really garbage macaroni meme.
