This. Most female streamers are softcore porn thots or unlikeable sjw bitches who get carried through every game by their streamer beta orbiters.
Vtubers MUST play the role of a cute anime girl with no bf or cuntiness. They MUST always be sweet, pleasing to the ear, or funny because they can't randomly stand up and shake their ass to the viewers. In this way they are a wholesome girlfriend equivalent.
Also Anime is a static thing that takes a team a long time to make, it isn't interactable or real. Vtubers simply need to launch their hololive app and start streaming, its anime come to life. I'm pretty sure many weebs have written an offhand remark in a vtuber's stream thinking not much of it only to have the vtuber respond. To the weeb this fires off neurons and the connection is made that anime is real and she exists at the same time as me.

The vtubers themselves also know its cringe, but since they have the 2d puppet theyre hiding behind it works out better. I honestly don't know. At one point I made the switch from normal streamers to vtubers. Even a year before EN came out.

Just the sheer amount of content hololive alone churns out makes it really easy to just have something going on 24/7 in the background while I do other stuff.

I know about vtubers through clips but I never went out of my way to go to their channel to watch because I don't get the appeal. At least until I found Gura's Fly me to the moon clip. That got me intrigued enough to catch a live stream. Then I fell down the rabbit hole.

I think its a matter of what just clicks with you. I like listening to Gura's voice while working and her humor is my kind of humor, not to mention her singing voice is divine. I already branched out with other vtubers, holo or otherwise, but I can safely say that when Gura graduates (hopefully in the very very far future), then that also ends my vtuber watching addiction.

TLDR: If you find a vtuber that resonates with your tastes, be it their voice or their content, then you too shall fall down the rabbit hole.

JP entertainment is the only place where there's no politics bullshit and provides you pure escapism that you used to get with older superhero comics, pre-2010 movies, older TV series etc.
Now they're all waxing political bullshit, and most folks don't watch escapist entertainment to be preached to about how they are x or y.
JP entertainment for the most part, doesn't do that. Vtubers specifically, because they have a lot of interesting stories to tell, and provide you a lot of comfort, comedy and relaxation.
