It's technically doable but like the others said, not likely. The dlc has probably the 3 hardest bosses in the game (Artorias, Manus, Kalameet) with only O&S contending a spot as far as base game goes and Oolacile can be very tricky as far as locations are concerened

Bullshit falls and hitboxes pushing you off, tight corridors where you bounce off the walls, debris you get stuck on, slopes and stairs in general. I'm glad she debuffed herself against the stray demon, even if it wasn't intentional. It actually managed to make the fight hype even though it was the third iteration. Also served for her to prove to herself she can fight bosses without taking out 10% of their HP with every hit, even more so because it's a boss she'd struggled with before.

the biggest problem with the bk sword is that the r1s are too good for raw damage. it self-limits its moveset because to get good with the r2s you've got to be more deliberate, and why bother? the r1s are good enough

good thing about the bk weapons is that pretty much anyone who gets either of them early on ends up having a better time with the game and gets more into its world than just take it as a "rage game". kanata's been checking the descriptions for pretty much every item she picks up, she's even been checking on the character quests she'd missed. that's cool to watch if you love the game

It's easy mode in the beginning but it didn't really detract from Kanata's experience with the game. She's a proper beginner through and through. The sword really helped smooth out the pace of the streams so I'll take that as a positive.

Hardly stronger than the claymore or faster than the zwei. It just feels normal.
She doesn't even have poise either, it's not all on the weapon. It's not like she's shield-spearing either which was my lame ass first game.

it evens out eventually, but at the start the difference is noticeable, and unlike the drake sword for example, its much more viable to main from beginning to end, so you don't have to experiment as much to find your weapon of choice, the damage output itself convinces you AND its way easier to upgrade if it's the only twinkling weapon you use, doesn't take any slabs

Claymore hard-carried me on the first playthrough, the moveset is just too good. The best thing about BK weapons is that the upgrades are so easy and the scaling it great right away. I think Kanata would've struggled with something like Claymore since the damage is way more important before you can really learn the advantages of moves like pokes and freeaim sweeps.

It's insane that you can +5 twinkle weapons before O&S practically for free. You still need to know how to use it well. Kanata still struggles with regular things new players do, I think the confidence her weapon was giving her right from Blighttown was the actual cheat.

the bks streamlines the experience, but kanata is still sensible. when fighting gwyndolin she was switching up her equipment for better magic resistances. she even uses prism stones, who even bothers to do that? she's having an easier time, but she's not just letting the game play itself
plus i will insist that this is miles better than any of the myriads of playthroughs that consist of people obviously having a terrible time with the game and chat backseating

I rarely see anyone sort their items either. Kanata is just on another level. Also she hasn't fully become a poise monster yet which is the actual easy mode. Keeping backup weapons for different situations is also a very nice idea. Gonna serve her well in DS2. I think this playthrough was as good as it gets, actually involved, immersive gameplay instead of simple shinige, we just need a good dose of Manus and Kalameet struggles to top it off.
