Ethyria hands down. Diminishing returns hit HARD when they debuted and they had a fuckton of trouble trying to gain subs/views and were stuck under 100k until after luxiem debuted. Luxiem brought in new eyes that trickled down onto the girls and helped them to incline as well. After awhile though luxiem got lazy and complacent because they got a rabid chink fanbase and shit started plummeting again. Noctyx hiring a troon and an obnoxious faggot who's personality is sucking dick was just the final nail.

Once the males debuted it was over. You could see people like Finana and Elira drop the whole "i'm a cute girl uwu" act and begin to show their true colors. It goes to show how upper management really wanted to bring in the holo fanbase with the first two waves until they dropped the bomb on unicorns and take whoever was left. Originally the Lazulight/Obsydia girls gathered a small audience for themselves, mostly of disaffected hololive viewers. They were getting like 1.5k - 2k on their streams. Selen could get 3k on her apex streams.

Then Ethyria came around and did dogshit numbers. Nobody was watching them so they started leeching on anyone they could to boost themselves. This attitude was probably driven mostly by Nina who is super competitive and ambitious (and maybe she has bills to pay or something). Ethyria's leeching behavior kind of ruined the friendship dynamic of the other girls although it was still tolerable.

Luxiem came and brought a huge horde of chinese women. This changed the dynamic of the fanbase a lot, the threads became flooded with fujos. Ethyria saw this opportunity and started hardcore leeching off Luxiem to boost themselves. The other girls became more lewd and degenerate and started pandering more to asian women.

Noctyx had immense debut viewers, but underperformed because of weak hiring decisions.
Actually Noctyx are kind of "brotubers" because they're more chill and don't do fujobaiting all the time.

Then ILuna came and ruined everything for good. A wave filled with normalfags who had no connection to vtubing culture and nobody wanted to watch them. At this point Enna had found huge success with her karaoke streams so Kyo attached himself to her like a fucking parasite and started leeching all her streams. This changed Enna's personality tremendously and she became an immense bitch and did NTR to mock vtuber fans which permanently damaged the branch's reputation.

XSoliel is filled with japanese people who stream in japanese timeslot and pander to the japanese audience. They can't compete with actual japanese vtubers so they are struggling too.

Basically the entire branch was riding on Luxiem this entire time, and now that Luxiem is imploding everyone in the branch is hemorrhaging numbers. The girls over time had replaced many of their core male fans with chinese women suddenly had the rug pulled out from under them. Now the girls are falling back to their debut averages and many are falling below. The branch as a whole has contracted as the girl's box total is no more than 6k these days. The absolute state of Luxiem is pitiful to see, unless they're doing mega-buff streams they struggle to break 5k, and Ike is now falling below 2k

Ethyria were initially tolerable, but at the same time it was exceedingly clear that the magic of the first two waves was gone, and there was an air of scuff and unprofessionalism with some of them that wasn't endearing. Now, this would have been fine if they improved. Talents rarely stay the exact same as they were in their debut. But rather than improving the opposite happened, with most of Ethyria seeming to care less, and put in less effort as time went on. Surprisingly Nina, the antichrist of the group in many fans eyes, was the one to improve the most over time, and actually turn out pretty well. Probably due in part to the other members of Ethyria actively shunning her, so she decided to do her own thing.
Ethyria was absolutely the start of the decline. Luxiem is just when the most drastic change in the fanbase happened, and the exodus of the older fans started, and made way for the cancer in the fanbase that we have now.
