it really depends. there are both, you just need to find what style works for you and is something you can keep up for a long time.

snuffy tried the uwu voice, then switched to her normal one. the vshojo girls all use voices. the 3D vtubers like Pren and Girl_DM don't use a voice, just their regular stuff.

and for guys, there's Kongou, Randon and Power Nelson who put on an act, but a bunch of others who don't and just talk in their normal voice. hell, even Ugly Bastard Project talks in his normal voice (which is kind of a huge disappointment)

can't think of anyone other than Gintama that might fit that. but the problem there is your "over expressive" emotions will all have to be custom animations that are triggered by hotkey. you won't be able to express that range of emotions through just deformations in Live2D. so it'd have to be some pretty expensive custom work.

There's more to it than "just port it to Android lmao", the app needs some way to get the depth map data from the phone's systems.
I don't know if Google makes the depth map data available to other apps, or what protocols they use, but VTube Studio is basically built from the ground up around Apple's face tracking API.

I do think casual play of MMOs can work if you use it essentially like a talking stream with the game as a background object. But as the main point of the stream it'll probably be rather bland.
