That's only a small part of it anon. A lot of Holomem tried convincing her to stay, and weathering the storm of antis together was probably part of their argument (they already do this anyway without hesitation during collabs involving her). But it's not the primary reason why Coco decided to leave.
She's made it to the top as a Vtuber and she doesn't want to go stale. So she's leaving while she's still at the top.
She wants to pursue her aspirations outside of being a VTuber. That's probably why despite a lot of pushback from the other Holomems, they ultimately decided to respect Coco's decision.

Man, Coco is not my oshi, but this hurts more than I thought it ever could. While I knew about vtubers early-on, I didn't really get into it. It wasn't until Coco and Haachama started to do English streams that my interest was piqued. I remember browsing the vtuber thread back on /wsg/ way back to see what everything was about. Webms of Coco would be posted occasionally. I remember back then how crazy she acted in comparison to everyone else. Some of the things she would get away with saying and doing was astonishing back when most vtubers were seiso. It really was unique for the time, and she was still plenty unique to this day.

While my oshi is Haachama, Coco definitely holds a special place in my heart. I will miss her. Yes, I know of her roommate's other channel, but that isn't the same.

So tl;dr this is just a confirmation of what we have known for months already, Cover has been walking on eggshells ever since the Taiwan incident out of fear of havingbanother mayor yab, specially around her. This lead to creative differences berween her and management with management constantly shooting down or putting roadblocks on new projects and Coco being too headstrong to accept thebideas from management because she felt they weren't reallbwhat gans wanted out from her, and having to constantly deal with the zhangs really put a toll on her.

I think these are the two hardest things to solve. Youtube engineers have literally zero communication with anyone. They did eventually make that VPN filter, but they just activated it silently and neither Cover nor Coco had any idea about it, she just streamed one day and the spam was gone seemingly randomly. It should be as simple as emailing a Youtube rep and saying "hey can you turn that on all the channels?", but you can't email a Youtube rep. You can only talk to some Indian dudes on twitter who give canned responses from a handbook. They don't know anything about this experimental filter, or that it's a massive spam attack that reporting accounts can't fix, or that slow mode is broken. They seemingly have no ability to escalate issues to a superior.

Twitter has the same issue. They also don't seem to consider the hashtag pollution that the bugs do to be against the rules. If you could talk to a human who works at the company, you could explain to them that those specific hashtags are how a particular user communicates with their fans, so posting a bunch of rude shit or spam with 5 different Coco hashtags constitutes targeted harassment, but you literally can't talk to a human. They actually have something like an email form that I've used a few times but never got a response.

The only way that complicated problems like this gets solved on these giant tech websites is if CNN writes an article about trans people getting attacked or pedophiles or whatever. It literally isn't worth their time to fix issues unless they have some giant media pressure on them.

Ironically China doesn't have this problem. Most big websites you can call on the phone and talk to some chinaman who actually works there. Nobody else speaks their language so they can't outsource.

If cover's smart, they'll dial back restrictions on the other girls, at least for now, and start actually trying to figure out some way to make good on their promise to protect them from spam. Maybe even start helping them with the projects they want to do. They've got a lot of people who are burnt out and fed up with management and if Coco's successful on her other account I think it's possible some of the others will start thinking about how much they really need Cover.
