People didn't actually listen to what she had to say, or didn't even watch the stream at all. To her, "Friend" is a specific thing that she literally cannot be. She cares for her audience. She likes talking with them, she likes entertaining them, she likes making them happy. She streams a bunch, gives them content, works every Tuesday to get better at singing in order to improve the experience. If she were to say something stupid, something you disagree with, something that makes you mad, she will NEVER be able to properly reconcile; she won't seek you out because you're upset, because it's impossible. She does not know her fans as an individual, but as a collective. She has a relationship with her fans, but friend is no the proper word to use. A friend, even an online one, can have heart to hearts with you. A friend can actively help you.

Her first mistake was actually responding to the superchat. The SC requires you to accept the black and white thinking of either her seeing the viewers as pay pigs or seeing them as friends, when the answer is clearly more nuanced.
