Genuinely, how long can this trend last? It seems totally unsustainable that so much of Hololive EN's fanbase is built on nostalgia from a 6 month period in late 2020/early 2021 because they've done nothing memorable since then. You guys constantly treat HoloEN as if it's the gold standard of vtubing, crying that x vtuber isn't in Holo or that they're wasted in some other corpo, but it just sounds like this board is being left behind by people who actually watch and enjoy vtubers in 2023. Stop whining about Gura's lack of output and just watch something else dudes. This is a vtuber board, not a Holo board.

The rest of Hololive(HoloJP to be specific) and Nijisanji actually stream consistently and produce content though. Not only that but they produce relatively GOOD content that justifies their position at the top. They are genuine role models for up and coming vtubers with their creativity and willingness to branch out into streaming cool games. For example right at this very moment Salome is streaming FF3 and Pekora is streaming Kingdom Hearts, two games that are rarely ever streamed. Their strong work ethic and genuine love of games makes it hard to not love them as content creators.

Meanwhile...Hololive EN just cycle through the same fotm games of Apex/Minecraft/Nintendo recent releases; and this is supposed to be the pinnacle of vtubing? I'd argue that EOP's clinging to HoloEN so much over the last 2 years has stifled the growth of the EN vtuber scene as it just encourages copying their same bland content. We can't start promoting indie 2views and small corpos until this board shows a willingness to actually engage with their content despite being "not hololive". Otherwise you just get spammed with endless "buy an ad" posts or your thread gets derailed by Holo/Niji console wars. I moved on long ago, shortly after Council debuted and Myth stopped streaming as much. It's a sad sight to see but the popularity and brand recognition of the main JP branch and its audience, is the only thing that boosts them even now. They'd probably decline even more if not for them.

kinda yeah, /asp/ isn't very good and neither are the various 2view corpo generals. they're more of a containment of a bunch of different fanbases and people who are too scared to post in the catalog. like if I go into /pcg/ there's probably some fanbase war between pippa/lumi fans and everyone else, as is the norm for that general. feels like even within the individual generals there's so much disconnect. /nijien/ is in a perpetual state of gender wars between the og fans and luxiem fans. /hlgg/ is pretty much split between genuine discussion of the JP talents and EN "fans" spamming doxx against eachother. /ppg/ turned into a general sonyverse thread which seems difficult to maintain as most people in that general only watch like 1 or 2 vtubers and ignore everyone else.
