They should be more willing to hire indie vtubers without forcing them to get a new model or hide their past lives. Sometimes attracting established talent is worthwhile as you can absorb their diehard fans.

People like Suisei are rare. Hololive has strong brand power, and it runs the danger of diluting that brand power (in the way that's happened to Niji) by recruiting randos of questionable ability with low quality avatars/rigging.

>> No.521605

>>521420
Yeah of course they should have some quality standards, but vtubers like Kana Kamiko have perfectly good models and a decent fanbase that you could just slap the "Hololive" name onto and no one would notice. They obviously don't want to do this because they need to retain the rights to their characters for merchandising purposes, but eh. Just kind of a shame when Luna for example had such a good model before moving to Hololive, not that I dislike her new one.

Pretty sure any popular indie would jump at the chance if they're looking to make vtubing into a career. The money Hololive talents make completely dwarfs any indie, even after the corporate cut. It's also a resume filler if vtubing ever stops being sustainable, being able to say "I worked for a Japanese media company as a talent with a channel that had over 500k subs and $300k+ in superchats" is better than "I make videos on Youtube on my personal channel with 50k subs"

Even Nyanners applied for Hololive and got rejected which is what made her form VShojo.

You guys say this but their management is pretty involved in the activities of their talents behind the scenes. We only hear about the scandals, of which there's a lot, but Haachama's manager letting her do this entire horror arc seems to imply some of the managers are quite lax. The managers that overmanage seem quite bad though, like Enma not letting Gura collab with JP's and Jenma not letting Calli collab with indie vtubers.

I don't ever see this happening unless the talent/agency is also Japanese. American/western agencies have too much baggage right now and have to appease too many arbitrary people with arbitrary rulesets in order to be successful. A japanese agency can simply step in, outright state their demands for talent, and get auditions every time .

I would love if Niji actually did step up and attempt NijiEN but not a lazy rehash.

Incorrect. If a Japanese company pisses off the screeching nationalists/socialists/just plain retarded nolifers in a country, they can always fall back on Japanese social media or the Japanese language sphere.
An english one isn't going to have that, and the english speaking internet right now has just as many obscure, hard to understand, and downright contradictory trigger points as the Chinese-speaking one does right now. They're just different sets of trigger points. And to be good with the main platform holders, you have to appease all of them. You don't get the 'I'm Japanese and this cultural faux pas makes zero sense to me' card with something like VShoujo.

What terrible examples, Kana left Tsunderia because she was really bad at reaching out and collabing with other members, the few collabs she was in were pretty bad. Her character and model aren’t anything Hololive needs.

If you know anything about nijifags, buying out Moruru’s character and model from Nijisanji would be more trouble than it’s worth. Luna loves the dumb baby character she has now, it is what she wanted.

>> No.523905

I didn't say Luna doesn't prefer her new model, or that Kana personally should be in Hololive. I just used them as examples of high quality models that COULD fit into Hololive without needing to be replaced. THINGS COVER STAFF SHOULD DO FOR THEIR TALENT
>Help them organize schedules.
>Talk to other managers to help organize collabs. Say one stream Holo A says she'd like to collab with Holo B someday but she's too shy to ask. Holo A's manager should at the very least float the idea to Holo B's manager.
>Get permissions for games they want to stream.
>Keep track of their physical and mental health. If it looks like they are getting burnt out, give them a break.
>Make sure their connections and equipment are functioning well. Buy or reimburse them on things they need to stream. Lobby to fix problems with models or rigging if there is any.
>Watch their streams when possible and monitor any technical problems or interruptions.
>Teach them basic coporate OPSEC, research and scrub their past lives to avoid doxxing.
>As much as possible, keep track of Antis. That's not to say every anonymous comment can be followed up on, but if some guy says he knows where a Holo lives and is gonna visit her, maybe take action.
>Teach the newer ones how Hololive works, what will be expected of them, both from the fans and the company. This includes memberships, concerts, collabs, merchandise, pricing, etc.
>Support and protect them from outrage nothingburgers by Antis (this includes easily offended insectoid bugmen)
>Hire competent staff with background in talent management for managers, translators, mods, etc.
>Filter questions/SC for harassment, self-help, and not interesting questions.
>Use their prestige and connections to hook their talent up with songwriters, movie makers, artists, who want to make things for them.
>Screen all fanmade content that the Holos want to feature.
>Help foreign ones with visa so they can stay in Japan.
>Give Watame an oppai mousepad.
>Focus on EN and JP Holos because they are the only important ones.
>Put some effort into the presentation of their big end of year multi branch live.
>Help them with projects.
>Acknowledge when they fuck up and move to rectify.

THINGS COVER STAFF ACTUALLY DOES FOR THEIR TALENT
>Why the fuck would a manager help with scheduling?
>Some managers barely even talk to their Holos let alone other managers. Lamy's manager said she wasn't a good fit with anyone. Coco is being prevented from collabing with EN. Calli may be barred from collabing with certain Holos.
>Just play Overcooked, Dark Deception, and that one fucking "game" with the plug people.
>Harass and stalk them.
>Source your own equipment, not like it's critical to your job or anything.
>Fix your own streaming issues, we're not a tech company or anything.
>Hire SEAniggers who will harass and stalk them.
>Oh hey one of our talents reported that her manager is harassing and stalking her? Better not do anything about it.
>Figure it out yourself lol. Maybe we'll make a keychain for you after two years. Also we decide your image so if Watame wants an oppai mousepad, she can suck it.
>Teach their Holos to apologize for mistakes the company made in an attempt to shift blame.
>Kneel and bootlick angry Antis and suspend their talents hoping it will appease them (It won't RIP ALOE).
>Hire incompetent people with no background in talent management as staff, rather they are just SEAnigger fans (*oserbait) and end up being at best fucking "SAY THE THING" creeps, (like the HoloEN manager Marine met) and at worst people who will one day rape and kill the Holo (*yger, Mel's manger).
>Pick the worst and most Gosling questions.
>Suisei has literally released one original song since she joined Hololive. She released two while she was indie. Kiara had to go commission her own song without Cover.
>Let tracers through and make your Holo look like a fool for having to hastily retract emotes after announcing them.
>Hang them out to dry, not my problem lmao.
>Watame, that's not your image, no oppai mousepad for you.
>Have more Indog Holos because people totally asked for that.
>Nah let's just videotape a fucking screen.
>Shot down Pekora's project, made her cry. Marine has to provide half the funding for her project out of her own pocket, despite Cover raking in millions.
>Oh we gave a bunch of Chinks mod powers in Coco's chat, tech company btw. Sucks that all these fans got banned, just submit a ticket through our fucking website, we have our best intern on it probably.

Aloe wasn't ashamed of her sexposting, she never bothered to hide it and she didn't scrub that twitcast video off the internet. NND, Futaba and 5ch doxxed her. Ame and Gura barely collaborate as it is. Kiara has some autistic Jap/Idol loyalty to the point where her own audience had to drag her for weeks, before she even considered allowing Holostars on Holotalk.
This leaves Ina and Mori. Ina doesn't have much time to stream, so the fact she did Pochi is a small miracle. Mori is the big unanswered questionmark, but it is in the realm of possibility that her collaborations were with people that are not compatible with the Hololive brand.
