Lots of reasons but mainly yes, people who would be interested in watching don't want to watch it when it just came out because they'll want to play it and see it for themselves. Tears of the Kingdom, another game that will almost certainly be a buff in a couple of months, was a huge debuff game at launch for the same reason. Add in that long JRPG's in general can be a killer for your CCV because people who may have missed an earlier part will be lost later on, and you have the perfect storm. Even then Henya played it really fucking smart by marathoning the entire game beginning to end across 3 days so she could finish it in as short a time as possible though that's probably because she's a fucking NEET and not out of any strategic reason
