Amusingly enough, I don't think so. There's a couple mission where you have to be stealthy but that's about it. Most missions are extremely straightforward combats with increasingly "anime" setups and some pretty ridiculous bosses. I hate that I did the mission where you take down an entire fleet in mid-air as a treaded mech. It should've been 4 laser/plasma cannon biped.
