why don't tubers hire an "official" clipper so they don't get misrepresented by clickbait clip channels?

Nijisanji did for a while. Hololive has partnered recurring translators too and the EN shorts channel they abandoned

There is literally nothing good that can come out of having a official clipper. With the way YouTube works it's actually the perfect setup for Cover to allow whoever is interested to try and be a clipper and monetize until there's an issue and just copystrike their entire channel to the shadow realm. It also sidesteps and potential fiasco from a clip by putting the blame on the clipper whereas if the official clipper fucks up there's no one else to blame.

Because shit's expensive as hell and you don't get enough money and exposure for it in return. A somewhat popular fleshstreamer talked about his best month on Youtube back in 2016 earning him 22k for a month and half of that went to his editor. Today, ad revenue is in a much worse shape and he got millions of views on some videos in that period while not even Gura would have those views these days. It would pretty much be a net negative to pay for an editor to take control of your channel (or make a separate channel to not ruin the algorithm for your music releases).

It's this. there's too many risks involved with direct interaction between a superfan and a talent.
things always work best when there's a clear separation between fandom and the talent.

Simple, make them cover employee. I think they learned a LOT from China disaster and never let outside parties handle company properties. Channels included.
And even if you can't make them employee at least have them sign some kind of contract.

As shown many times, allowing things to grow organically or spread virally is more successful than trying to force things, especially with cover/niji and their hilariously bad decisions at times.
