This shouldn't be surprising, remember her huge weakness despite appearing cool and confident is performance anxiety. Its something I think is the reason she gets along so well with Kiara, and out of left field, Mumei. Kiara takes losses super hard and gets down on rather trivial things, despite seeming resilient. Mumei from what I have observed is really competitive and hates being looked down upon. Then we cycle back to Nerissa talking about that recital and you can tell that stuck in her craw and is the reason she probably goes super hard with her vocal coach besides wanting to improve, it feels like a need to NOT feel embarrassment. Specifically, and *frequently* highlighting her sister being better as a singer is another thing. Which I hope as she goes forward she genuinely feels she deserves her accolades. Got super cereal with it, but I think these things interconnect.

Its not that all of them are just bad, its that they have very specific games they like to play, even disregarding perms. Chilla's stuff seems to be a streamer stable at thus point in the same vain as trying Jump King or something. Nerissa in particular is a Nintendo player, even FF7, was something she played on the Switch, not the PS1. At this point, its more about opening her mind to newer stuff, because given how deeply entrenched she got with BG3, she showed interest in DnD tabletop. She always feels like she is dancing between seasoned veteran and newbie on stuff. Not a jaded gamer, but not totally new. Its pretty great. So quite a bit is on the table, if you're not expecting her to run Soulslike games or something. Would be a good topic for tonight.

I don't think her interest in BG3 has anything to do with the tabletop experience. She only knows the surface level mechanics of the game, she plays on baby difficulty because she doesn't want to strategize at all, she's almost as allergic to reading tooltips as Kiara is, etc. The only reason she's so obsessed with the game is the characters. She fucking loves them.

I would say she should try DoS2 but the character most like Astarion is a lizard so she wouldn't fall for him. It's also much harder to actually complete character quests in that game.

I'm almost positive this is just a case of having unrealistic expectations due to BG3. She probably thinks the average DnD campaign is similar to it but in audio book form when in reality campaigns are typically 90% about the player characters. I just had a most peculiar dream.
